Description
Feltd Grace is a central character in Mobile Suit Gundam 00 the Movie: A Wakening of the Trailblazer, having served as a member of the paramilitary organization Celestial Being since childhood. Born on December 28, 2293, she is the daughter of Ruido Resonance and Marlene Vlady, who were test pilots for the organization's second-generation Gundams. Following their death in an accident when a Gundam's GN Drive overloaded, Feltd was raised aboard the Celestial Being mothership, the Ptolemaios, and came to view its crew as her surrogate family.

In terms of personality, Feltd is quiet, introverted, and not naturally adept at interpersonal communication, though she possesses a deep well of hidden emotion and a fierce loyalty to those she considers family. She has a calm and brave disposition that belies her young age, and in the early stages of her life, she often kept her feelings to herself. Her closest confidante was her fellow operator, Christina Sierra, who encouraged her to be more expressive. She also developed a fondness for the yellow Haro unit that belonged to Lockon Stratos, the Gundam Meister she came to admire. Over the course of the series leading into the film, Feltd matures significantly. The losses she endures refine her character, making her more emotionally open and profoundly caring, though she remains reserved compared to her more boisterous crewmates.

Feltd's primary motivation throughout the story transitions from a quiet need for belonging and security to a powerful desire to protect and connect with the people she loves. Initially drawn to the gentle warmth of Lockon Stratos, her world is shattered by his death in battle, alongside that of her friend Christina. This trauma causes her to initially project her unresolved feelings onto Lockon's identical twin brother, Lyle Dylandy, when he joins the crew, a confusion she ultimately overcomes. With the passage of time, her affections shift toward the pilot Setsuna F. Seiei. Unlike the infatuation with the memory of Lockon, her feelings for Setsuna are rooted in witnessing his personal growth, his dedication to understanding, and his role as a pioneering Innovator. By the time of the movie, her motivation is centered on supporting Setsuna, hoping to bridge the emotional distance his new transformation and heavy responsibilities have created.

In the narrative of A Wakening of the Trailblazer, Feltd continues her role as a tactical operator and engineer aboard the refurbished ship, now called the Ptolemaios 2 Kai. Her position is vital, as she monitors Gundam systems during combat, provides tactical updates, and handles critical research and ship maintenance. One of her most significant acts is her attempt to connect with a now-distant Setsuna. Following the advice of the tactician Sumeragi Lee Noriega, who tells her that longing builds a bridge to understanding, Feltd tries to reach him, recognizing that he has become closed off due to the pressure of being humanity's pioneer.

When Setsuna is critically injured and falls into a coma after a massive psychic attack from the alien ELS, Feltd is the one who remains steadfast by his side in the medical bay. She holds his hand, prays for him, and sheds tears during his moments of greatest agony, demonstrating the depth of her devotion. Upon awakening, Setsuna touches her hair, acknowledging her care but reaffirming his duty to go into battle. Feltd comes to a poignant realization: Setsuna's love is for the whole world, a burden that is too large for her to contain with a personal claim. She makes the mature choice to release him, resolving to support him from afar through her unwavering thoughts and prayers rather than holding him back.

A notable visual change marks her development; she has cut her long hair short for the film. The official explanation for this is that she is letting go of her lingering grief for the deceased, symbolizing her readiness to move forward without being chained to the past.

Key relationships for Feltd in the movie are primarily with Setsuna, to whom she acts as a quiet guardian and source of unconditional support, and with her found family on the ship. She no longer views Lyle Dylandy through the lens of his dead brother, accepting him as a separate person. She also shares a nurturing, big-sister dynamic with the younger crew member Mileina Vashti. Regarding notable abilities, while she is not a pilot, Feltd is exceptionally skilled as a multi-purpose crew member. She possesses extensive knowledge of mechanical engineering and Gundam systems, serves as a skilled programmer, and acts as a tactical coordinator, capable of remotely reprogramming the Gundams mid-mission. Her true strength, however, lies in her emotional resilience and capacity for quiet, selfless love, which ultimately defines her role in the film's conclusion.
