OVA
Description
Princess Fatora Venus is the younger sister of Princess Rune Venus of the kingdom of Roshtaria in the OVA series. Early in the story, she is missing, having been kidnapped by the Phantom Tribe, who are masters of illusion. The Phantom Tribe subjects her to various scientific experiments because two females of royal blood are required to operate the ancient superweapon known as the Eye of God, and they use her as the key with a special device. After the machine breaks down, the tribe is forced to retreat, and Fatora is taken by the demon god Ifurita to become a prisoner of the Bugrom, a race of humanoid insects. When she is finally freed, she agrees to help her sister activate the Eye of God to defeat the Bugrom, though sabotage by the Phantom Tribe causes the weapon to run out of control.
Despite being a princess who is looked upon with love and admiration by the members of her own palace, Fatora’s true personality is that of a cruel, despotic tyrant. She is considered a hot-blooded and perverse princess who shows very little gratitude towards those who rescue her. For instance, she declares to her rescuer, Makoto Mizuhara, that he must have a greater appreciation for her royal station now that he has had a chance to live it. A significant portion of her personality is defined by her aggressive and predatory romantic interests, as she is consistently shown scheming to pursue other women. In the radio dramas, her behavior escalates to the point of cutting her own hair short to impersonate Makoto in an attempt to seduce the women who are interested in him, such as Nanami Jinnai and the priestess Shayla-Shayla. She has a very nasty itch for these luscious redheads and will go to great lengths to satisfy it.
Her primary motivation stems from her selfish desires and hedonistic whims, as she seems less concerned with the politics of her kingdom and more focused on her own amusement. Her role in the story is initially that of a damsel in distress whose absence drives the impersonation plot, as Makoto is forced to dress as her to fool the court. However, once she is freed, she becomes an active, if chaotic, participant, eventually taking on the role of a key necessary to wield the ultimate weapon. Her key relationship is with Alielle Relryle, who serves as her devoted concubine and loyal accomplice. Alielle is happy to see that Fatora has not changed at all after her ordeal and aids her mistress in her schemes to hit on other girls. Her relationship with her sister Rune is complicated by her tyrannical nature and the shared burden of controlling the Eye of God.
In terms of development, Fatora remains largely static in her fundamental nature, maintaining her role as a mischievous and domineering princess throughout the original OVA. She does not exist in the alternate timeline television series The Wanderers, making her exclusive to the original OVA continuity. Her notable abilities include her status as a royal of Roshtaria, which grants her the genetic key required to activate the Eye of God in conjunction with her sister. Beyond her political and magical significance, her talents lie in deception, trickery, and manipulation, often using her authority and charm to create elaborate scenarios to pursue her romantic targets. She is also known for her lack of gratitude and despotic behavior, treating her station as a means to indulge her whims.
