Drusi, originally titled the King's Spear, functioned as King Bosse's personal guard until reassignment to protect Queen Hiling following Miranjo's first rebellion. Bosse deemed Drusi's personality incompatible with safeguarding the king. Though initially displeased, Drusi accepted after evaluating Hiling's worth; her brusque exterior initially deterred him, but he discerned her genuine concern for others and social awkwardness, concluding she merited his service. This conviction in universal protection earned him the new designation Queen's Shield.
Physically, Drusi possesses a massive frame with broad shoulders, a bald head, thick eyebrows, and a scar marking the left side of his mouth. His formidable build suits his status among the Bosse Kingdom's Big Four.
Isolated from major political affairs—including court schemes involving the Magic Mirror and the Bojji-Daida succession conflict—due to his dedicated protection of Hiling, Drusi remained unaware of key events until Miranjo's resurgence. During her orchestrated assaults, he critically defended Hiling against underworld hounds and other threats, sustaining grave injuries including the loss of his left eye and left foot. Despite these wounds, he fought relentlessly, briefly resisting Gigan and shattering the gigantes' warhammer in the castle courtyard.
His combat prowess hinges on superhuman strength, noted by Bosse as the "sturdiest" of the Big Four. He employs heavy plate armor impervious to physical strikes and wields spiked bucklers strapped to his forearms, excelling in close-quarters engagements through brute force and tactical acumen.
Drusi shares a formal but profoundly trusting bond with Hiling. She depends on him, and he maintains unwavering loyalty throughout the kingdom's turmoil. A notable moment occurs when Hiling grasps his arm at the first season's conclusion, signaling a connection transcending duty, though their future relationship remains unclarified.
His name originates from the English word "shield," echoing his protective function.
