Description
In the Sailor Moon S anime, Kaolinite serves as the primary field agent for the Death Busters, acting as the devoted assistant to Professor Souichi Tomoe. She is a striking figure, typically appearing in a sleeveless red lab coat, with long, dark red hair and a calm, calculating demeanor. Her outward personality is one of cold efficiency and intelligence, carrying out her missions with a sense of superiority. However, beneath this professional facade lies a deep, unrequited romantic infatuation with Professor Tomoe, which largely fuels her actions and her intense jealousy towards anyone who might divert his attention away from her, particularly his daughter, Hotaru.

Kaolinite's primary motivation is to win the Professor's approval and affection, a desire that makes her blindly loyal to the Death Busters' overarching goal of reviving the entity known as Mistress 9. In her role, she is responsible for hunting Pure Hearts, which are then used to create Daimons and, ultimately, to awaken the Messiah of Silence. She personally selects targets, implants Daimon eggs into objects those victims cherish, and oversees the extraction of their heart crystals. Her mission is further focused on the search for three specific Pure Hearts that contain the legendary Talismans.

Her relationship with Professor Tomoe is central to her character, defined by her desperate, one-sided love for him. This dynamic shapes her interactions within the Tomoe household, where she frequently belittles and torments Hotaru, viewing the young girl as a rival for the Professor's time and care. She also has a contentious relationship with the Witches 5, the group of Daimons who also serve Tomoe, as they see her as either a rival or an obstacle, especially after her first defeat.

Kaolinite undergoes a unique development in the series, being the only enemy character to be revived from death. In her first incarnation, she is confident and ruthless, directly confronting the Sailor Guardians on multiple occasions. Her end in this initial life comes during a battle at Tokyo Tower. After Sailor Moon destroys her final Daimon, Cenicienta, Kaolinite absorbs its power, gaining a crystal sword and the ability to fire crystallizing shards. She nearly defeats the Inner Sailor Guardians but is ultimately struck by Sailor Uranus's World Shaking attack, which turns her own crystal power against her, encasing her in glass and sending her plunging to her apparent doom.

Later, Professor Tomoe uses his technology to revive her. In this second life, she initially appears with suppressed memories as the caretaker "Kaori," but her past eventually returns. Her revival also restores her determination to serve her master. After feeling sidelined by the active Witches 5, she takes decisive action to recapture the Professor's favor by kidnapping Chibiusa to extract her pure heart. She successfully delivers the child to be used in the ceremony to awaken Mistress 9. As the newly awakened Mistress 9 takes form, Kaolinite believes she has finally secured her place at the Professor's side. However, Mistress 9 declares that Kaolinite is no longer needed and instantly kills her with a powerful blast of lightning, ending her existence permanently.

In combat, Kaolinite is an accomplished sorceress with several notable abilities. Her most distinctive attack is using her prehensile hair, which she can extend to great lengths to tie up or strangle her opponents. She can also project powerful energy blasts and, after absorbing a Daimon's power, she gains the ability to fire a crystallizing beam that can freeze objects and people solid, as well as manifest a sword of crystal for close-quarters combat.
