Description
Marta, known in the original Japanese as Tellu, is the third member of the Witches 5 to appear in the anime Sailor Moon S. She is assigned the task of gathering Pure Heart Crystals for the Death Busters, specifically to help awaken Mistress 9. Unlike some of her colleagues, she does not rely on daimons created by Professor Tomoe; instead, she cultivates her own plant-based creatures, which she calls Telluns.

Tellu operates by opening a flower shop and distributing her Tellun plants to ordinary people under the guise of a free gift. The plants are designed to extract the pure heart from their owners and deliver it to Tellu, who then stores the crystal in a magical container. Her chosen victims are those with particularly strong, pure hearts, making her method more targeted than random attacks. She is methodical and patient, preferring to work through deception rather than direct confrontation.

Her personality is cold, calculating, and ambitious. She shows little loyalty to her fellow witches, as she kills Mimete, the second member of the Witches 5, in order to take her place. This act demonstrates a willingness to eliminate rivals without remorse, driven solely by her desire to succeed in her mission and gain favor with her superiors, Professor Tomoe and later Mistress 9.

In terms of relationships, Tellu primarily interacts with the Sailor Guardians as her opponents. She draws the attention of Sailor Pluto, who becomes suspicious of the mysterious flower shop and investigates. The confrontation involves Sailor Moon, Chibi Moon, Tuxedo Mask, and Sailor Pluto. Tellu does not engage with the Inner Sailor Guardians directly; instead, her battle is mostly with Pluto. She is also the only member of the Witches 5 in the anime who never meets her thematic counterpart from the manga, Sailor Jupiter.

Tellu's notable abilities center on plant manipulation. She controls the Telluns, which can ensnare victims and extract their pure hearts. In combat, she is capable of unleashing her most destructive creation, Hyper-Tellun, a giant monstrous plant. She can also transform her own body into a monstrous form, gaining additional offensive power such as vines that can attack multiple enemies at once. Her magic is strong enough to overpower the Sailor Guardians initially.

As a character, Tellu has no redemption arc. She is depicted purely as an antagonist whose ambition leads to her downfall. After defeating the Sailor Guardians in their first encounter, she assumes her daimon form to finish them off, but Sailor Pluto, revived by the power of the Sailor Guardians, destroys her. Ironically, she is killed not by the heroes directly but by her own uncontrolled plant monster, Hyper-Tellun. Her role in the story is to demonstrate the escalating threat of the Witches 5 and to showcase Sailor Pluto's powers and determination.
