Description
Chibodee Crocket is the Neo American representative in the 13th Gundam Fight and the pilot of the GF13-006NA Gundam Maxter. His background is a quintessential rise from hardship, embodying a version of the American Dream. At the age of five, he attended a circus with his mother when it was attacked by terrorists disguised as clowns. Chibodee was taken hostage in the ensuing chaos, and his mother was killed, an event that left him with a deep-seated phobia of clowns that would persist into adulthood. Orphaned and alone, he grew up on the tough streets of downtown New York City, surviving by stealing and fighting. Discovering a natural talent for brawling, he channeled his aggression into street fighting and became a champion with one hundred wins in one hundred fights. His skills were eventually noticed by officials from Neo America, who scouted him. He became a celebrated boxer, even reaching the finals of a unification boxing match between Earth and the space colonies, and was ultimately chosen as his nation's Gundam Fighter. He is revered as a hero in his old neighborhood, a living symbol of hope who rose from the mire to the top through his own strength.

Chibodee has a hot-blooded, loud, and charismatic personality that matches his nation's stereotype of the "jolly American." He is exceptionally patriotic and expresses his emotions with abundant clarity, whether it is joy, anger, or sorrow. He frequently mixes English into his speech and often addresses his fellow fighters by their nationalities, such as calling Domon Kasshu "Japanese" and Sai Saici "Chinese." Despite his flashy and sometimes arrogant demeanor, he is fundamentally a man of honor and integrity. When corrupt Neo American officials tried to assassinate Domon rather than face him in a fair fight, Chibodee personally intervened and destroyed their conspiracy, insisting on an honest match. While he initially clashes with the refined and noble Georges de Sand of Neo France due to their polar opposite upbringings, the two share a deep respect for combat and ultimately become trusted friends and effective teammates in battle.

At the start of the series, Chibodee is motivated by a desire to win the Gundam Fight and maintain his status as a champion and a hero for the downtrodden people who look up to him. He feels a powerful sense of duty to be a beacon of hope, famously declaring that he cannot lose because he is the embodiment of a dream. His initial role is as a rival to the protagonist, Domon Kasshu. After Domon defeats him in their first Gundam Fight in New York, Chibodee develops a deep, friendly, and lasting rivalry with him, promising to be an even tougher opponent in the future.

As the tournament progresses, Chibodee’s role expands significantly. He is infected by the malevolent DG Cells in the Shinjuku arc and is forced to fight against Domon. He is saved by the previous members of the Shuffle Alliance, who sacrifice themselves to purify the cells and bequeath to him the crest of the Queen of Spades, making him a member of the new Shuffle Alliance. This traumatic event leaves him psychologically scarred, and he briefly turns to alcohol and loses his fighting spirit. His dedicated support crew, a group of four young women known as the Chibodee Girls whom he rescued from a life of poverty, help pull him out of his depression. He travels to the Guiana Highlands to train, where he regains his resolve, works with Domon to save their friends from a flood, and develops his ultimate technique, the Burning Machine Gun Punch.

In the finals held in Neo Hong Kong, Chibodee is forced to confront his childhood trauma when he is pitted against Romario Manini of Neo Portugal, a fighter who pilots the Jester Gundam and uses terrifying clown imagery. Initially paralyzed by panic, he overcomes his fear when his crew sings "America the Beautiful," a song that was his mother's lullaby. He defeats Romario and later faces Domon again in a climactic battle. Though Domon ultimately counters his new techniques and defeats him, Chibodee accepts the loss with honor and reaffirms their bond as eternal rivals and allies. In the final battle on Lantau Island, he fights alongside Georges de Sand to destroy the massive Grand Gundam and joins the rest of the Shuffle Alliance in the final assault against the Devil Gundam, contributing his power to the combined "Burning Shuffle Alliance Attack".

In combat, Chibodee fully utilizes his background as a boxer. His fighting style is aggressive and close-range, relying on powerful punches. His Gundam Maxter is equipped with giant revolvers called Gigantic Magnums for ranged attacks, but its true power lies in its melee capabilities. In its normal mode, it uses Fighting Knuckles. For finishing blows, the Gundam Maxter can enter "Boxing Mode," equipping massive gloves stored on its shoulders. His signature techniques include the Cyclone Punch, which generates a tornado-like gust to launch opponents; the Burning Punch, a fiery strike that can shatter large boulders or fire an energy blast; and his ultimate move, the Burning Machine Gun Punch, a rapid barrage of explosive shockwave punches developed during his training in the Guiana Highlands.
