Description
Leena Toros is a main protagonist in the anime series Zoids: New Century, also known as Zoids Zero. She is the daughter of Dr. Steve Toros, the manager of the Blitz Team, and the younger sister of the skilled pilot Leon Toros. At sixteen years old, she is portrayed as a loud, bubbly, and hotheaded young woman with a quick temper, especially when provoked. She has a tendency to get even swiftly with those who upset her, as Bit Cloud learns early in the series. Her appearance includes short reddish hair and purple eyes, and she is described as bearing a strong resemblance to her late mother.

On the battlefield, Leena's combat philosophy is straightforward: shoot everything in sight. She is notoriously trigger-happy, often firing on any target that registers on her radar, which makes her a direct contrast to the calculating and shrewd pilot Naomi Fluegel, with whom she shares a rivalry. Leena initially pilots a heavily armed Dibison, but after that Zoid is destroyed, she upgrades to a heavily customized Gun Sniper. Rather than using it in its traditional long-range role, she equips it with a Weasel Unit loaded with numerous missile launchers. Her typical solution to a difficult battle situation is to order a Total Assault, firing everything she has.

Leena's role in the story is as a core member of the Blitz Team, competing in Zoid battles organized by the Zoid Battle Commission. She is fiercely competitive and determined to win, though her impulsive nature sometimes leads to reckless decisions. Her key relationships include a constant adversarial but affectionate dynamic with Bit Cloud, the team's main pilot; the two argue frequently, and fan speculation suggests she may secretly have feelings for him. She is also the object of persistent romantic advances from the wealthy Harry Champ, which she usually brushes off with annoyance. With her brother Leon, she shares a sibling bond that shows a more caring side, though they also clash occasionally. Her relationship with her father, Dr. Toros, is generally warm, as she is often seen helping around the team.

Over the course of the series, Leena's development is subtle: she remains consistently passionate and headstrong, but she gains more confidence in her customized Gun Sniper and learns to work more effectively with her teammates. She does not undergo a dramatic personality change but grows as a pilot within the team structure. In terms of abilities, she is a capable Zoid pilot with a specialization in overwhelming firepower and rapid aggression, making her a formidable opponent in battle despite sometimes ranking lower than Bit or Brad in time trials.
