Description
Jamie Hemeros is a main character in the Blitz Team, a group of Zoid pilots who compete in the Zoid Battle Commission battles. At the age of fourteen, he is generally portrayed as the youngest member of the team and serves a variety of essential non-combat roles, including the team's tactician, strategist, and the assistant to the team's manager, Dr. Toros. Off the battlefield, his responsibilities extend to handling the team's paperwork, managing the household chores, and acting as the treasurer.

Jamie has a generally timid, gentle, and non-confrontational personality. While he gets along with the other members of the Blitz Team, his cautious and well-researched battle plans are frequently ignored by his more impulsive teammates, who prefer to follow their own tactics in the heat of combat. He is often teased by his comrades and is the frequent target of their antics, leading him to feel taken for granted. Despite this, he is arguably the most grounded and mature member of the group, providing a logical counterbalance to the doctor's more enthusiastic and extravagant tendencies. His primary personal motivation is a deep and sincere fondness for his own Zoid, a Pteras, which he is often seen carefully maintaining and polishing. He becomes extremely distressed whenever this Zoid is damaged in battle.

For the first half of the series, Jamie pilots a Pteras, a flying Zoid, serving as the team's only aerial combat pilot. However, his role in actual combat is minimal, as he typically acts as an operator aboard the team's Hover Cargo, where he scans the battlefield, provides tactical information to his teammates, and manages their Zoid rearming and repairs. His key relationships within the team are complex. He maintains a friendship with the main pilot, Bit Cloud, providing him with tactical support, though Bit rarely follows his advice. With Leena Toros, he often beats her at strategy games, which causes her to react poorly, and she sometimes takes advantage of his mild-mannered nature. Brad Hunter also receives tactical support from Jamie. The team's manager, Dr. Toros, respects Jamie's logical mind but frequently makes decisions without consulting him, most notably selling Jamie's beloved Pteras to acquire a new Zoid, the Raynos.

Jamie's development is marked by his transition from a non-combatant operator and pilot of the Pteras to the pilot of the Raynos. This change triggers a significant and dramatic shift in his abilities. When piloting the Raynos, Jamie can enter an unconscious secondary persona known as the Wild Eagle. In this state, his personality transforms completely; his voice deepens, his hair becomes more spiked, and he becomes a confident, arrogant, and highly skilled ace combat pilot, capable of executing complex aerial maneuvers and engaging multiple opponents successfully. His combat prowess is vastly increased, though this persona also tends to be reckless and overconfident, which can lead to defeat. Notably, upon returning to normal, Jamie has no memory of his actions or the intense fear he experienced while flying as the Wild Eagle. This alternate persona is an inherited title, making Jamie the second Wild Eagle after a pilot named Oscar.
