Banane is a character who appears exclusively in the film Sailor Moon SuperS: The Movie. He is one of the fairies recruited by the primary antagonist, Queen Badiane, to assist in her plan to collect the dreams of Earth's children. His designation is that of a cuckoo fairy, and his visual design is noted for being somewhat unusual, with an outfit that gives him the appearance of a large banana, which is reflected in his name as banane is the French word for banana. His physical traits include orange eyes and pointed, elf-like ears, and he is generally identified as male.

In terms of personality, Banane operates as a loyal and dutiful subordinate to Queen Badiane. His motivations are aligned with her villainous goal, which involves tricking children by promising to lead them to a happy dream world. In reality, his mission is to encase these children in Dream Coffins to harvest their dream energy, known as Sugar Energy, to power the Black Dream Hole, a massive black hole intended to swallow the Earth. To accomplish this, he works alongside two other antagonistic fairies, Poupelin and Orangeat. Together, the trio uses their magical flutes to control gondolas that transport kidnapped children to Queen Badiane's floating castle, Marzipannu.

Banane's primary role in the story is as an obstacle for the Sailor Guardians. He and his fellow fairies are responsible for gathering children and defending their master's operations. When the Sailor Guardians infiltrate the castle to rescue the captives, Banane engages them in combat. His notable abilities are tied directly to his magical flute. By playing this instrument, he can transform colored candies into small, orange, creature-like minions called Bonbon Babies. These creations attack by body-slamming their targets, and Banane is able to control their movements through his music. While the Sailor Guardians can initially destroy these creatures with ease, they become significantly more resilient and capable of regenerating when empowered directly by Queen Badiane.

The character's development is minimal and concludes with his defeat. During the final confrontation, Sailor Mars uses her Mars Flame Sniper attack to destroy Banane's flute, reducing it to ash. Without his instrument, he loses his power and is transformed into an orange cuckoo bird, which then flies away. This transformation reflects his nature as a cuckoo fairy. According to supplemental material from the creator, Naoko Takeuchi, Banane was designed with reptilian traits, including a tongue that can stretch out, and he is said to smell of bananas. Aside from his working relationships with Queen Badiane and his fellow fairies Poupelin and Orangeat, he has no significant connection to the protagonist fairies, such as Perle, who defects from Queen Badiane to help the Sailor Guardians.
