Description
Margot is the Italian dub name used for Fujiko Mine, the only major female character in the Lupin III franchise, including the anime series Lupin III: Part III. She is a professional criminal, thief, and spy who operates both independently and alongside the gang led by Arsene Lupin III. Her background is rooted in her creation as a female presence in the adult-oriented manga, with her name derived from the sacred Mount Fuji. She often employs a variety of disguises, changing her hair and eye color to suit her objectives.

Personality-wise, Fujiko is shrewd, cunning, and highly independent. She is driven primarily by a desire for wealth, jewels, and luxury, often pursuing her own goals over any sense of loyalty. She is the quintessential femme fatale, using her attractiveness, intelligence, and manipulative skills to deceive targets, allies, and rivals alike. Her motivations are largely self-serving, but they are tempered by a complex, genuine, and rarely fully expressed affection for Lupin. While she frequently betrays Lupin for personal gain, she also occasionally rescues him and his companions from danger, suggesting a hidden depth of care.

In the story of Part III and the franchise overall, she serves as a recurring ally, rival, and love interest. She is not a permanent member of Lupin's gang but frequently participates in their heists, often as a partner who turns into a competitor when the prize is within reach. Her role is to create tension and unpredictability, as her allegiances shift constantly. Her key relationships include her dynamic with Lupin, who is infatuated with her and forgives her betrayals, and her more contentious ties with Daisuke Jigen and Goemon Ishikawa, who distrust her but will work with her when necessary. She also sometimes collaborates with Inspector Zenigata for her own advantage.

Over the course of the series, her character shows limited development in terms of outright change, but her interactions reveal a subtle, underlying loyalty. Later installments tend to depict her as more consistently part of the group, though her tendency to double-cross never fully disappears. Notable abilities include exceptional skill in firearms, particularly a Browning M1910 handgun, proficiency in martial arts, and expertise in disguise, impersonation, and piloting a wide range of vehicles. She is also multilingual and highly adept at infiltration and escape.
