Description
Nanai Miguel is a supporting character from the animated film Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack, set in the Universal Century timeline. She is a Newtype researcher and military strategist who holds the dual roles of director of Neo Zeon's Newtype research laboratories and chief operations officer for Char Aznable, the leader of Neo Zeon. In her private life, she is also Char's lover.
Born in U.C. 0069 into a family with strong Spacenoid sympathies, Nanai grew up in hardship after moving to a space colony with her father. Her elder brother, Giorgio Miguel, was an active member of the Zeon Independence League and later a mobile suit pilot for the Earth Federation while secretly supporting Spacenoid independence; he was killed in action against the Titans. Nanai demonstrated exceptional intellectual capabilities from a young age and developed a keen interest in Newtype research, leading to her recruitment by the Augusta Institute. There, she worked as an ambitious and calculating researcher under the Titans, conducting controversial experiments on Newtype subjects. Disillusioned by the institute's brutal methods, she defected to Axis Zeon in U.C. 0087 alongside Dr. Loren Nakamoto, bringing test subject Peche Montagne with them.
