Description
Kengo Aiba is the human identity of Tekkaman Omega, the overarching antagonist and final opponent in the narrative. He is the eldest son of Dr. Aiba and the older brother of Takaya Aiba, the protagonist who fights as Tekkaman Blade. Before his transformation, Kengo served as his father's research assistant and was the fiancé of a woman named Kengo, who would later become the Tekkaman known as Sword. As a human, he was described as having a friendly, confident, and outgoing personality.

Kengo was transformed into a Tekkaman while in cryogenic sleep aboard the space vessel Argos when it was captured by the alien Radam. Unlike the other human-derived Tekkamen, who are combat types, Kengo was reformatted into a unique commander-type unit designated Tekkaman Omega. His role is the supreme commander of the Radam forces invading Earth. To fulfill this function, Omega is physically fused with the Radam mothership, which lies dormant on the Moon. This integration grants him a colossal, immobile form, with his original human face embedded in his abdominal armor. Because his body is one with the mothership, he is largely confined to it, coordinating operations and deploying other Tekkamen from this central location.

Despite being under Radam control, traces of Kengo Aiba's original personality and memories persist, defining his motivations and actions. His primary driving force is a perverse and amplified form of love for his family, particularly his younger brothers. He is fiercely protective of Takaya and Shinya, the latter being transformed into the Tekkaman Evil. On multiple occasions, Omega acts to prevent Evil from undergoing a dangerous process called blasterization, citing the need to protect him from its lethal side effects. When Evil disobeys and rebels, Omega confines him, lamenting that he cannot afford to lose another brother. Similarly, he shows deep, possessive affection for his fiancée, the Tekkaman Sword, and is driven by a desire to protect her. This contradictory nature of a Radam commander who still harbors human love for his enemies is central to his role in the story.

Omega serves as the final boss and the primary target for Tekkaman Blade. After Blade defeats all other Radam Tekkamen, including his brother Evil and his fiancée Sword, he confronts Omega on the Moon. At this point, Blade has lost most of his memories due to the brain damage caused by his own combat evolution, and he operates on pure hatred for the Radam. Omega initially attempts to appeal to Blade’s familial bonds, revealing his human face, but realizes that Blade no longer recognizes him. This loss of recognition, coupled with the deaths of their siblings, erases any remaining affection Omega holds, and he attacks with the full fury of the Radam commander.

Throughout the story, Omega's relationships are defined by tragic familial and romantic love. He is the brother of Tekkaman Blade and Tekkaman Evil, and the fiancé of Tekkaman Sword. His attempts to protect Evil and Sword from harm place him in direct opposition to Blade, who must kill them to save humanity. In the final confrontation, Omega's strength is immense; connected to the mothership, he possesses near-infinite energy and can regenerate or produce shadow copies of fallen Tekkamen to fight for him. He easily overpowers Blade, who is saved only by the sacrificial intervention of his robotic partner, Pegas. Enraged, Omega destroys Pegas, an act that restores Blade’s fighting spirit. Blade then uses a final, desperate evolution into a Blaster Tekkaman to destroy Omega and the mothership.

As a Tekkaman, Omega possesses a distinct set of formidable abilities that set him apart from his combat-type subordinates. His primary weapons include a scepter-shaped Tech Lancer and the ability to fire his ultimate attack, the Volteka, from multiple points on his shoulder armor. He can also generate long, powerful tentacles from the mothership's biomass to bind and impale opponents. His connection to the mothership allows him to teleport within its structure and to create fragile, holographic copies of other Tekkamen to serve as distractions or a secondary army. Because he draws limitless energy from the fused mothership, he does not tire and can sustain his attacks indefinitely. However, this power is also his greatest weakness, as the destruction of the mothership by Blade’s enhanced Blaster Volteka results in his own annihilation. The character of Kengo Aiba thus represents the final, tragic figure of a family torn apart, a loving eldest brother forced to become the ultimate enemy of his own kin.
