Description
Kris Rutherford, known as Jinn, is a cyborg with a body 60% mechanical due to traumatic experiments performed by the mad scientist Müller. Müller kidnapped Jinn and his sister Kleene as children after their parents, former patrons of Müller Royal Laboratories, withdrew funding upon uncovering his unethical research. Müller killed their parents and subjected the siblings to invasive procedures, forcing Kleene to witness Jinn's dismemberment to break her emotionally. This left Jinn permanently altered and instilled a lifelong drive to protect Kleene.

Operating under the alias "Jinn," he initially served as a mercenary in the squad Rogue Out, believing their leader, a fake Sister, could cure Kleene's emotional disorder. He carried out missions like abducting B-Cubers on Blue Garden for clients such as Illega. While dedicated to his assignments, he demonstrated a degree of morality by preventing unnecessary torture of captives and acknowledging the questionable nature of his actions. His confrontations with Shiki Granbell showcased his combat prowess and single-minded focus.

Following the Chronophage disaster on Guilst, Jinn joined Drakken Joe's organization, becoming an assistant to Kleene after she was brainwashed into serving as the Element 4 member "Sylph." His loyalty centered solely on safeguarding his sister, leading him to comply unquestioningly with Drakken's orders. However, upon discovering Drakken was siphoning the life force of everyone on Belial Gore, including Kleene, Jinn betrayed the crime lord, prioritizing Kleene's well-being over his employer.

Jinn and Kleene later sought help from the real Sister Ivry by temporarily joining the Edens Zero crew. After Sister Ivry healed Kleene and Weisz Steiner defeated Müller, Jinn officially became a permanent member as one of the "Winds of Edens." Integrating into the crew softened his initially stoic and loner demeanor; he began accepting friendships, smiling at Shiki Granbell's declaration of camaraderie and expressing protective loyalty toward the entire crew. He maintained his serious and calm approach to missions.

Physically, Jinn is tall and muscular with spiky green hair and red eyes, bearing visible mechanical seams along his body and face. His attire shifted from a ninja-like cloak and armored suit during his mercenary days to simpler, dark-colored sleeveless tops and trousers after joining Edens Zero, often accessorized with a headband and scarf. His mechanical body provides combat enhancements, including detachable limbs equipped with rocket thrusters.

Jinn's primary combat ability is Wind Ether Gear, allowing him to manipulate wind for offensive attacks, defensive maneuvers, and flight. He combines this with ninjutsu techniques to create wind-based slashes and environmental disruptions. His cyborg enhancements grant superhuman durability and unique tactics, like using his detached arm as a projectile. After training, he achieved Overdrive, significantly amplifying his wind control, though Drakken Joe initially deemed this state incomplete.
