Description
Princess Rufina, whose full name is Rufina Wyndaria, is a supporting character in the anime Shining Hearts. She is the princess of the kingdom of Wynderia and the younger sister of Prince Ragnus. At eighteen years old, she has blonde hair that reaches her chest and blue eyes, and she carries herself with a calm, dignified presence befitting her royal station.

In terms of personality, Rufina is kind, gentle, polite, and sociable. She is soft-spoken and composed yet approachable, with a genuine curiosity about the world beyond the palace. She is also well read and scholarly, spending much of her time in the palace garden, where she pursues her interests in tea and herbs. She enjoys brewing black tea and herbal tea, and she has particular standards when it comes to bread, favoring loaves that pair well with tea. This fondness for tea has earned her the nickname of tea princess. Alongside her brother, she also shares a love of red roses.

Rufina's primary motivation is helping others. As a healer, she studies medicinal herbs that can soothe and restore people, and she is naturally drawn to assist those in need. When the protagonist Rick and his companions enter her world, she takes a genuine interest in them and gradually becomes an ally, using her knowledge and her position to support their efforts in a variety of ways.

Her key relationships reinforce this supportive role. Her elder brother, Prince Ragnus, is protective of her, and the two share a close bond. Her lady-in-waiting, Rouna, serves as both her maid and cook; although Rouna seems clumsy, she is in truth a loyal and capable bodyguard devoted to protecting the princess. Rufina's connection to Rick and his party deepens over the course of the story as she offers aid from the royal side.

In terms of abilities, Rufina belongs to a priest-type class, meaning her strengths lie in healing and restorative magic rather than direct combat. Her extensive knowledge of herbs and medicinal plants complements this role, allowing her to tend to the injured and prepare remedies. She also shows a sharp attention to detail in her domestic pursuits, particularly in brewing tea and judging the quality of bread.

Development-wise, the anime portrays Rufina as a steady and supportive presence who becomes more involved with the protagonists as events unfold. Her arc is quiet rather than dramatic, marked by a growing trust in Rick and his companions and a willingness to step beyond the sheltered life of the palace to help those around her.
