Description
Daisuke Endou is the grandfather of Endou Mamoru, the protagonist of the original Inazuma Eleven series. In the world of soccer, he is a legendary figure, celebrated as an exceptional player and a master coach who developed many hissatsu techniques. By the time of Chrono Stone, he has long since passed away in the original timeline, but his legacy endures through his grandson and the soccer world at large. He is sometimes referred to by the title Master D, a name by which he is known in the future.

In Inazuma Eleven GO 2: Chrono Stone, Daisuke plays a pivotal role when the Raimon team travels back in time to seek his help. They require his expertise to decipher the Hasha no Seiten, a mysterious book containing the secrets to assembling the Ultimate Eleven, a team strong enough to counter the forces seeking to erase soccer. Despite his advanced age, characterized by his grey beard and his tendency to hide his eyes behind sunglasses, his passion for the sport remains undimmed. In his youth, his personality was very similar to his grandson Mamoru's: energetic, headstrong, and deeply in love with soccer. As an elder, he presents a calmer, wiser, and warm-hearted demeanor, though he retains a sharp and analytical mind.

Daisuke's motivation in Chrono Stone stems from his unwavering love for soccer and his desire to help the young players who come to him for guidance. Initially reluctant, he is eventually persuaded by the team's determination and agrees to become their temporary coach. His role in the story is crucial, acting as a mentor and strategist. He is the one who introduces and explains the core concepts of Mixi Max and Keshin Armed to the Raimon players, guiding them on how to unlock their full potential by fusing with the souls of historical figures.

A defining event in the Chrono Stone anime is when Daisuke is targeted by the Protocol Omega 2.0 captain, Beta. She attempts to seal him away in a prison for eternity, but his immense willpower protects him. Instead of being imprisoned, he is transformed into a Chrono Stone, a gem that contains his soul and consciousness. This orange, hexagonal stone becomes his temporary form. Even in this state, he can still speak and move, continuing to act as a strategic advisor from within the stone, proving that his spirit cannot be contained. He remains in this form for much of the Raimon team's journey through history.

His key relationships are central to his character. His bond with his grandson, Endou Mamoru, is a powerful underlying element, though in the past timeline of Chrono Stone, Mamoru is still a child. His primary role is as a coach and mentor to the new generation of Raimon players, including Matsukaze Tenma and Fei Rune. He holds great respect for Kidou Yuuto, recognizing his intellect, and works closely with the team's manager, Sorano Aoi. Throughout the Ragnarok tournament, his guidance proves instrumental, as he analyses opponents and helps his team overcome seemingly insurmountable obstacles. By the end of the arc, after the timeline is restored, the Chrono Stone reverts to its human form, and this temporal version of Daisuke disappears, returning to his rightful place in history after having secured the future of soccer.

His notable abilities extend beyond his legendary status as a goalkeeper. Daisuke is a supreme strategist and a fount of soccer knowledge, as evidenced by the near-illegible notebooks he left behind, which contain the blueprints for ultimate techniques. His greatest power is his unbreakable will, which was strong enough to resist being erased from time and instead transform into a Chrono Stone. He can also perceive the hidden potential in players, identifying who among them is best suited to mixi-max with specific historical figures like Jeanne d'Arc or Oda Nobunaga. His own legendary hissatsu techniques, such as God Hand, serve as the foundation for many of the powerful moves used throughout the series, solidifying his place as one of the most influential figures in the Inazuma Eleven universe.
