Description
Beyal is a main protagonist in the Monsuno anime series, introduced as a young monk who joins the core team of heroes. He spent the majority of his life in a monastery, specifically the Library of Tebab located in the Himalayas, where he was trained in monastic traditions. After the villainous Bookman attacked the library and destroyed most of its inhabitants, Beyal and his mentor, Master Ey, were among the few survivors who managed to escape and hide in a secret monastery.
In terms of personality, Beyal is defined by his peaceful and contemplative nature. He is most comfortable during meditation, a practice through which he can experience descriptive visions. He is notably shy and has a difficult time dealing with others, particularly when interacting with girls. Beyal is peace-loving, speaks with a very soft voice, and possesses a boyish innocence alongside his intelligence. He has a unique speech habit of referring to his teammates as my gays. His worldview is shaped by a prophecy concerning five people who, with the help of their Monsuno, could change the world, a destiny he believes the team is destined to fulfill.
Beyals primary motivation is to pursue a deeper truth and understanding beyond normal human experience. He joins Team Core-Tech after being rescued by Chase Suno and his friends from the Bookman. Feeling a deep sense of gratitude, Beyal declares that he owes his life to Chase and joins the team to aid in their mission. He is driven by a desire to use his knowledge of Monsuno and his unique abilities to help his friends battle against the forces of S.T.O.R.M., the evil scientist Dr. Klipse, and other threats like the Hand of Destiny.
Within the story, Beyal serves as the teams spiritual and knowledgeable core. He is the bearer of a rare ability known as Monsuno Sight, which allows him to perceive things others cannot. He often explains the history of the Monsuno and the nature of their bonds with humans, acting as a guide to the more impulsive members of the team. In combat, Beyal is a capable fighter who commands his Monsuno partners. His primary Monsuno is Glowblade, a tri-headed serpent-like creature. In later episodes, he also comes to possess Arachnablade, a large spider-type Monsuno, as well as Mysticblade and Hyper Glowblade.
Key relationships define his role in the group. He shares a close bond with Chase Suno, the teams leader, and is fiercely loyal to him. Jinja, the female member of the team, harbors a significant crush on Beyal, a fact that plays into his shyness around girls. He also has a mentor-student relationship with Master Ey, his surviving teacher from the monastery. His relationship with the rogue character Dax is initially one of mistrust, though they eventually fight alongside each other as teammates.
Throughout the series, Beyal undergoes noticeable development. Initially isolated and accustomed to the quiet life of a monk, he struggles to adapt to a social, fast-paced team environment. As the series progresses, he becomes a more integrated and reliable member of the team, using his meditative abilities not just for visions but to help the team solve problems, such as communicating with Monsuno to discover the identity of a fifth team member. He faces personal trials, including having his Monsuno Core stolen and confronting difficult visions of the future, which test his resolve.
Beyals notable abilities extend beyond his combat skills. His most significant power is his mastery of meditation, which allows him to still his mind and hear the communications of Monsuno, understand their feelings, and receive prophetic visions. This ability is crucial for the teams strategy and for understanding the deeper connections between humans and their Monsuno companions.
