Description
Dawnmaster is a mysterious character from the Monsuno anime who operates as a master thief and mercenary. He is distinguished by his unusual appearance, wearing a porcelain mask, a red cloak, and a gray jumpsuit, and he speaks with a robotic-sounding voice. His partner Monsuno is Cheeclaw, a creature resembling a winged cheetah.
Dawnmaster was initially hired by the character Master Ey to infiltrate the Library of Tebab. His mission was to replace all the library's books, scrolls, and Cores with blank copies, allowing the real items to be stolen without raising the suspicion of the library's guardian, the Bookman. His primary motivation seems to be professional, driven by his role as a mercenary fulfilling a contract.
In the story, Dawnmaster first appears when Team Core-Tech visits the library in search of an ancient book. He takes the book Beyal was looking for and flees, leading to a chase. He briefly confronts the team members Bren and Beyal. However, his role shifts when Chase Suno convinces him that they are allies with good intentions. When the Bookman captures Chase, Dawnmaster changes course, helping Bren and Beyal find their captured friend. He and Cheeclaw then battle the Bookman's Monsuno, Librax, with Cheeclaw easily defeating it. After the library initiates a self-destruct sequence, he escapes with the others. Ultimately, he brings the stolen books and items to Master Ey's monastery. His key relationships are primarily professional, beginning as an antagonist to Team Core-Tech but quickly becoming a temporary ally and later a recurring associate in their battles. Over time, he fights alongside Chase and Team Core-Tech against common enemies like Dr. Klipse and the Desert Wolves.
Regarding character development, Dawnmaster starts as a shadowy antagonist but reveals himself to be reasonable and capable of cooperation. A notable development occurs later when Chase and Team Core-Tech help him rescue a girl named Kimi from a group called the Hand of Destiny. He later suffers a grave injury when he and Cheeclaw are the first victims of Dr. Klipse's Fusion Core Reactor, an event that forcibly returns Cheeclaw to its Core.
