Description
Commander Trey is a prominent antagonist and high-ranking agent within the organization S.T.O.R.M. He holds the position of second-in-command, answering directly to Commandant Marshall Charlemagne. His primary mission is to capture the powerful Monsuno known as Lock, which leads him into frequent conflict with the young hero Chase Suno and his team, Core-Tech.
In terms of personality, Trey is depicted as rigid, relentless, and ruthless. He takes his duties to S.T.O.R.M. with extreme seriousness and has open disgust for anyone or anything that obstructs the organization's authoritarian methods. His personal mission to thwart Chase Suno is a defining trait, and he is noted by his enemies to be extremely cocky in his approach to battles.
Commander Trey's motivations are deeply tied to his loyalty to S.T.O.R.M. and his commitment to his role as a field commander. He is driven to succeed in his objectives of securing Monsuno power for the organization, which often puts him on a collision course with the protagonists.
His role in the story is that of a major recurring antagonist, serving as a persistent threat to the main characters throughout the first two seasons. He leads S.T.O.R.M. soldiers on numerous operations designed to capture Chase, obtain Lock's core, and control Monsuno essences. Over time, his character shows signs of development; he is later demoted to lieutenant, and there are indications that he becomes less rigid and more nuanced in later seasons. In one instance, he even becomes an unlikely ally, aiding Team Core-Tech to avert a larger disaster by containing a critical meltdown of Monsuno essence. He also has a young nephew, and his interactions with this family member provide glimpses into his personal life outside of his duties.
Key relationships in Trey's life include his professional dynamic with his superior, Commandant Marshall Charlemagne, whom he serves faithfully and even rescues from danger. He also has a tense working relationship with Jon Ace, a field agent with a more conflicted moral compass. As a high-ranking S.T.O.R.M. agent, Trey commands a variety of Monsuno partners. His primary Monsuno is Riccoshot, a creature with a design combining elements of a Hercules beetle and a spider. Over the course of his appearances, he also utilizes other Monsuno in battle, including Goldhorn, Venomeleon, Klipper, and Bayonet, as well as Airchopper, Crossbolt, and Skysite on occasion. He is a capable battler, often holding his own against multiple opponents, and he wields equipment such as an Auto Strike Multi-Launcher in combat.
