Description
Jeredy Suno is a scientist and the father of the protagonist, Chase Suno. He is the man responsible for the discovery of Monsuno, a powerful form of chaotic genetic energy that he intended to be used for the benefit of mankind. After making this earth-shattering breakthrough, he named the creatures after himself. Jeredy is defined by an obsessive and insatiable appetite for research, a trait that has made him a brilliant but often absent parent. His personality is marked by a high degree of egocentrism and vanity; he holds himself in high regard as a scientist and becomes irritated when his intellectual superiority is challenged, once claiming he practically invented hacking. His actions are frequently driven by a belief in his own righteousness, which often manifests as a neglect of personal responsibilities.

The central motivation for Jeredy throughout much of the story is twofold. On a grand scale, he is driven to understand and manage the Monsuno essence he unleashed, which he quickly realized had both constructive and devastating potential for the planet. On a personal level, he is also searching for his missing wife, Sophia Suno. This all-consuming focus on research and his personal quest causes him to abandon his young son, Chase, leaving behind no notes or calls to assure his safety. He spends a significant portion of the narrative hiding his trail to avoid being found, demonstrating a profound lack of regard for the emotional well-being of his son, who travels the globe trying to find him.

In the story, Jeredy serves as the catalyst for the events of the series. His disappearance is the driving force behind Chase's journey. While he is a reclusive figure, often appearing only via hologram or recording during the first season, he is the source of knowledge and technology that aids Team CoreTech. He creates advanced equipment, such as the Strike Launcher and Strike Glove, which he gives to his son. He also tasks a lone teenager named Dax with the dangerous mission of planting failsafe devices around the world to destroy Monsuno essence, working him tirelessly and in secret. Despite his physical absence, Jeredy orchestrates missions from his laboratory, using the efforts of his son and friends to further his own research without always considering the risks they face.

Jeredy's key relationships are complex and often strained. His relationship with his son, Chase, is defined by abandonment and attempted compensation. Instead of apologizing for leaving, Jeredy tends to buy Chase's affection with gifts, such as an excessive number of cores and powerful gadgets. He uses guilt tactics to avoid confronting his neglect, leading to moments where Chase expresses anger that his father cares for no one more than himself. Another significant but troubled relationship is with Dax. Jeredy makes Dax complicit in his secrecy, causing a deep rift of mistrust between Dax and the rest of Team CoreTech. When Jeredy later destroys the failsafe grid that Dax spent months building, he does so without an apology, showing a disregard for the teenager's hard work. He is also connected to his former colleagues, Jon Ace and Dr. Klipse, with whom he originally worked on the Monsuno project at the secret agency S.T.O.R.M. before going underground.

Throughout the series, Jeredy shows little to no character development in terms of his personality, remaining consistently self-absorbed and neglectful. However, his role in the plot evolves. Initially a missing person, he becomes an active, if still remote, ally who provides missions and equipment. He eventually partners more directly with Team CoreTech and acquires his own Monsuno partner, Hyper Driftblade. Despite these contributions to the fight against common enemies like S.T.O.R.M. and Eklipse, the fundamental rift with his son remains a persistent element of his character arc.

Jeredy possesses no supernatural abilities but is a genius-level intellect and a preeminent scientist. His notable abilities are purely technical; he is the inventor of the cores, strike launchers, and other gear used by Monsuno controllers. He was also responsible for devising the failsafe grid technology intended to destroy Monsuno essence. His personal Monsuno is named Hyper Driftblade.
