Description
Rika Shinozaki, known online as Lisbeth, is a supporting character in Sword Art Online: Extra Edition. In the real world, she is a high school student and one of the ten thousand players who were trapped inside Sword Art Online, a death game where a player could only log out by clearing all one hundred floors. During her time in the game, she established herself as an exceptionally skilled blacksmith, running her own shop on the forty-eighth floor of Aincrad. Her in-game appearance features pink hair and a red-and-white outfit reminiscent of a waitress uniform, while her real appearance is brown-haired and more ordinary. She is a cheerful and hardworking person who takes immense pride in her craft, but she can become defensive or even aggressive when her abilities are questioned. Despite her quick temper, she is deeply caring and values her friendships. At the start of her journey, she felt lonely and yearned for warmth, which motivated her to seek meaningful connections. After meeting Kirito through a recommendation from Asuna, she formed a party with him to obtain a rare forging material, the Crystallite Ingot, which she used to create the legendary sword Dark Repulser for his dual-blade skill. During this quest, she developed romantic feelings for Kirito, but upon realizing that Asuna felt the same way, she chose to step aside and support their relationship, later establishing a close friendship with both of them. In Sword Art Online: Extra Edition, which takes place after the game was cleared, Lisbeth attends the SAO Survivor School alongside Asuna, Kirito, and other former players. She is part of the group that goes on a swimming excursion, where she demonstrates her friendly, teasing nature and her role as a loyal friend. She is particularly close to Asuna, acting as a mood-maker and caretaker among the group, and she also maintains a warm, sister-like relationship with the younger player Silica. After moving on to the virtual reality game ALfheim Online, Lisbeth continues her blacksmith work as a Leprechaun, forging and upgrading equipment for her friends. Her combat skills involve using a one-handed mace or hammer, supplemented by light armor for mobility. Throughout the series, her development centers on overcoming loneliness, learning to cherish her friendships, and finding contentment in supporting others rather than pursuing her own romantic ambitions. Her notable contributions include forging the Lambent Light rapier for Asuna and the Dark Repulser for Kirito, as well as successfully reinforcing weapons to high enhancement levels, all of which highlight her mastery as a blacksmith. In Extra Edition, her presence underscores the theme of recovery and camaraderie among the survivors.
