Description
Pippo is a supporting character in Eureka Seven AO. He is an adult man from Iwato Island in Okinawa who works as a courier alongside his old friend Gazelle. The two are almost always accompanied by their colleague Han Juno, and together the three form a small team that transports client-specified goods, including jobs that push into smuggling territory. In physical terms, Pippo is an adult male with short green hair cut to ear length and dark eyes. Against his father's wishes, he joined the Okinawa Private Self-Defense Forces, a choice that reflects his desire to follow his own convictions rather than his family's expectations.
In personality, Pippo has a strong conviction to justice and generally tries to act in line with it, but he is also very unlucky, and his attempts to do the right thing frequently place him in inconvenient or awkward situations. He does not present himself as an outspoken leader; instead, he operates as a dependable teammate who stays close to Gazelle and Han Juno in nearly every scene involving the group. His motivations are built around his sense of justice and his loyalty to his companions, and his behavior is largely driven by friendship and a wish to back up his partners as their work evolves.
His role in the story begins early, when the trio is smuggling a bracelet that is accidentally taken by the protagonist, Ao Fukai. That encounter coincides with the sudden appearance of a Scub Coral and an attack by a Secret, also referred to as a G-Monster, which draws the small-time couriers into the larger events surrounding the coral and the conflicts between nations and organizations. Later, the three smuggle themselves aboard a Generation Bleu vessel and are hired as subcontractors, taking on support duties such as investigation, negotiation, escort, and miscellaneous odd jobs that assist the main pilot teams from behind the scenes. In this expanded capacity, Pippo contributes as a loyal co-worker and accomplice rather than through any distinctive individual talent; the group's collective strengths rest more on negotiation skills, intelligence, and practical field experience.
In terms of development, Pippo remains a consistent supporting presence throughout the series. He continues to operate with Gazelle and Han Juno as the trio's position shifts from a small courier operation to a broader role tied to a major organization, and he also appears in the OVA Eureka Seven AO: Jungfrau no Hanabana-tachi. His individual desires receive little focus in the story, and his defining traits, namely his good intentions, his bad luck, and his closeness to his friends, remain steady from beginning to end. Pippo has no special abilities, supernatural powers, or piloting role; his significance comes entirely from being part of a resourceful and enduring team.
