Description
Binz is a significant character and antagonist in One Piece Film Z, serving as a high-ranking officer of the Neo Marines. He is a former Marine who, out of deep loyalty, followed his instructor, the former Admiral Zephyr, when he left the organization to form his own paramilitary group dedicated to the eradication of pirates.

Physically, Binz is a tall and lanky man with broad shoulders and notably long arms, which gives him a somewhat disproportionate appearance. His attire is flamboyant and evokes the image of a ninja, consisting of a black and yellow over-suit worn over a hot pink bodysuit that also covers his head. He accessorizes with a green sash around his waist and carries a sword and a large shuriken on his back, tied with a light pink cloth.

Binz's personality is defined by his unwavering dedication to his master, Zephyr, whom he respectfully calls Z-sensei. He shares Zephyr's profound hatred for pirates, a conviction born from shared trauma. In his youth, Binz was a Marine soldier under Zephyr's command. He was one of only three survivors of a devastating attack by a powerful pirate who not only killed most of their unit but also severed Zephyr's arm. When that same pirate was later granted the political protection of a Warlord of the Sea, a disgusted Zephyr left the Marines. Binz, along with his comrade Ain, immediately resigned their positions to follow him, becoming founding members of the Neo Marines. This background fuels his motivations, as he is committed to Zephyr's extreme plan to destroy the three End Points, which would trigger a chain reaction to annihilate all life in the New World and end the Great Age of Piracy.

Within the story, Binz acts as one of Zephyr's primary enforcers. He leads Neo Marine forces in the raid on Firs Island to secure the powerful Dyna Stones needed for their plan. He later directly engages the Straw Hat Pirates, boarding the Thousand Sunny and using his Devil Fruit powers to subdue several crew members, including Franky, Usopp, Brook, and Chopper. Throughout the film, he is repeatedly pitted against Sanji. In their first two encounters, Binz proves capable, using his speed and agility to keep up with the chef, but in their final battle, Sanji decisively defeats him. Despite his loyalty, he is not without emotion; he is visibly distressed when he realizes Zephyr intends to sacrifice himself to allow his subordinates to escape from the pursuing Marines, and he is last seen mourning bitterly at his master's makeshift grave alongside Ain, comforted by the former Admiral Kuzan.

In terms of notable abilities, Binz is a formidable combatant who uses a combination of physical prowess and a unique Devil Fruit power. He is proficient in ninjutsu, wielding his sword and large shuriken with skill, and uses smoke bombs for tactical retreats. He has also mastered at least one of the six superhuman martial arts techniques known as Rokushiki, specifically Soru, which grants him explosive bursts of speed. This speed is such that he was able to dodge an attack from Nico Robin, a feat noted as being extremely rare. His primary power comes from having eaten the Mosa Mosa no Mi, a Paramecia-type Devil Fruit. This fruit allows him to dramatically accelerate the growth of plants and control them at will. He can create massive, resilient vines from any nearby flora to entangle, constrict, or strike his enemies, and he can also use them to slide across the ground for rapid movement.
