Description
Drive Garuburn is a sentient B-Daman and the partner of the protagonist Kamon Godai in the anime B-Daman Fireblast. This B-Daman is physically based on the Vermilion Bird of the South, a phoenix-like creature, which is reflected in its crimson and bright-blue color scheme and wing-like arm parts.

In terms of personality, Garuburn has a fiery temperament that mirrors his elemental affinity with fire. He is prone to sudden, loud outbursts when agitated or when things do not go as he expects, often yelling without thinking first. This impulsive behavior is immediately followed by a sincere apology, encapsulated in his characteristic catchphrase of apologizing for getting carried away. Despite these hot-headed moments, he primarily possesses a serious disposition and is capable of appreciating humor, occasionally displaying a morbid sense of wit, such as joking about nearly being turned into soup.

Garuburn's origin is tied to the memory loss of his partner, Kamon. Before the events of the series, Kamon was a powerful B-Master who lost his memories, including those of his original Drive Garuburn. The story begins when Kamon, guided by an unexplained familiar feeling, reconstructs Garuburn from parts at a local B-Daman shop. The B-Animal spirit of the original Garuburn then inhabits this new body, and the two become reacquainted as destined partners, both sharing visions of a past battle against a great darkness.

As Kamon's primary partner, Drive Garuburn is central to the story's battles and Kamon's journey to regain his memories and change the strict rules of Crestland's Road Fight. Their most significant relationship is with each other, acting as a single unit in battle. The B-Daman also has a noted relationship with Kamon's sister, Himiko, who affectionately nicknames him Garu-chan, much to his embarrassment.

Throughout the series, Garuburn undergoes significant development alongside Kamon. A major arc involves the pair being forced to confront and unleash their inner darkness, a state where negative emotions take over, orchestrated by the Grand B-Master Roma Day. This berserker state manifests as an aura of black fire, and Kamon's personality becomes filled with anger and arrogance as he is manipulated like a puppet. The resolution of this conflict is key to their growth, culminating in a decisive battle where Garuburn returns to its true self.

As a B-Daman, Drive Garuburn is notable for being a dual-type, classified as both a Power and Rapid-Fire Type. This is achieved through its unique Emblem Parts, which allow it to shoot marbles consistently with strong power, avoiding the typical pause of Power-Types or weak shots of Rapid-Fire Types. Its core ability is the Drive Strip, a rubber part that imparts forward spin to the marble when shot, enhancing its performance. The signature technique Kamon uses with Garuburn is the Emblem Charge Shot known as Burning Overdrive.
