Description
Kagerō Ogami, also known as Ken Ogami in some localizations, is a central protagonist in the anime B-Daman Fireblast. He is a tall boy with gray hair styled to one side, reminiscent of a tail, and reddish-brown eyes. His attire consists of a short-sleeved blue shirt, grey pants held up by red suspenders, and maroon boots.
Kagerō is a Blacklist B-Shot, often called a Black B-Der, a player whose official qualification to compete in the Road Fight was revoked. Despite this status, he continues to participate in battles without authorization, making him a fugitive pursued by the Master Guardians, the enforcers of the B-Masters. His B-Daman is the powerful Power-Type known as Detonate Wolg, also referred to as Gunlock=Wolg.
In terms of personality, Kagerō is initially characterized as an untrusting lone wolf who prefers to operate independently, relying solely on the strength of his partner, Wolg. He lives by a personal code he calls the Commandments of the Stray Wolves and takes great pride in his skills as a player. This deep-seated distrust of others stems from a specific betrayal in his past. After being blacklisted, he sought support from two friends who gave him a new phone to stay in touch. He later discovered that the phone contained a tracking device, placed there by his friends who had been bribed by the Master Guardian leader, Hagataki, in exchange for their own freedom. This incident left him resentful and convinced him to reject reliance on others. He also holds a strong grudge against a Western B-Master named Bakuga Shira, having lost to him in a Road Fight challenge, which further fuels his solitary path. Despite his serious and guarded nature, he has subtle quirks, such as being a very fast eater.
Kagerō's role in the story begins with him on the run from the authorities. He is eventually and persistently pursued by Kamon Day, a young B-Shot from Southern Crestland who wishes to challenge him. His motivations are initially focused on evading capture and dealing with those who betrayed him, but over the course of the narrative, he begins to slowly warm up to Kamon and his friend Mitsuru Hachuka. While he remains largely serious, he starts to question his belief that friendship holds no power. Regarding his abilities, Kagerō is a formidable B-Daman battler, noted for the incredible power of his Detonate Wolg. He is capable of performing a powerful Emblem Charge Shot known as the Hungry Wolf Gale Bullet. His fighting style reflects his lone wolf persona, prioritizing overwhelming solo strength over teamwork.
