Shimakaze Anjō, a major character introduced in Episode 11, comes from Nagoya in Aichi Prefecture and serves as the older brother of Nagara Anjō. His surname draws inspiration from a station on the Tokaido Main Line, while his given name references a limited express service on the Kintetsu Railway.

He exhibits a level-headed and patient demeanor, often strategizing carefully rather than acting on impulse. This temperament establishes him as a voice of authority and reason within his group, where he works to ease tensions among members. His younger brother Nagara, by contrast, frequently rushes into battle without forethought, which becomes a recurring concern for Shimakaze.

Initially a candidate to pilot the Shinkalion Z N700S Nozomi, Shimakaze voluntarily withdrew upon learning that Nagara possessed a slightly higher compatibility rate with the machine. He continues to support the N700S through the Dual Grampus System, which enables him to co-pilot alongside his brother when needed.

Later, Shimakaze is assigned his own dedicated unit, the Shinkalion Z Doctor Yellow. This machine is equipped with a Z Maintenance Mode featuring four seven-rocket missile launchers, deployed after an enemy scan identifies targets. In standard combat, it employs a sword and gun combination, wielding a one-handed double-barrel shotgun and a blade.

His relationship with Nagara is built on mutual respect and support. Though he serves as a mentor to his younger brother, he is notably less strict than similar figures in earlier teams, prioritizing Nagara’s well-being and growth as a pilot.

In appearance, Shimakaze is a teenage male with green eyes and short brown hair that reaches his ears.
