Description
The Digimon referred to as Pickmoon is named Pickmon in Digimon Fusion. The name comes from the word pick, referring to the small implement used to pluck guitar strings, and the creatures' bodies resemble guitar picks or small stars, each with a single eye and a cheerful facial expression. Pickmon come in several color varieties: silver individuals wear sunglasses, white individuals do not, and at least one red individual has a pattern resembling a monkey. They are generally small, with some depictions showing them in gleaming silver or gold tones.
Pickmon are best known as the primary members of the Starmons corps, a military unit made up of a Starmon at its center surrounded by several Pickmon. The corps operates under a strict hierarchy in which orders from higher-ranking members must be followed with absolute obedience and disobedience is not permitted. Because of this demanding environment, many Pickmon give up on the path to advancement and return home, but those who persist, work hard, and distinguish themselves from the crowd can be promoted to the rank of Major and become a Starmon. White Pickmon also have the ability to spawn smaller creatures called Chibickmon, who answer to their orders.
In terms of personality, Pickmon are energetic, enthusiastic, and cheerful. Despite their diminutive stature, they are notably brave and do not shy away from combat, standing alongside much larger Digimon in battle. Their primary motivation is to support the group to which they belong and, for those who remain in the corps, to rise through its ranks.
Within the story, the Pickmon serve as supporting members of the Fusion Fighters army. Their main role is one of cooperation: they frequently lend their strength to larger Digimon through the process of DigiFusion, merging with other creatures to form more powerful entities. A notable example is the fusion of Pickmon with Shoutmon to form Shoutmon X2, which amplifies Shoutmon's combat capabilities. Some Chibickmon and rare Pickmon also form part of a village made up of Digimon whose original villages were destroyed by Zanbamon, in events leading up to the episode "The Gold Wolf of the Crescent Moon".
