Description
Lottatrice, also known as Rottarace or Lotarus, is a member of the Investiture Beings who appears in the anime Blue Dragon: Trials of the Seven Shadows. As one of the council members among the Investiture Beings, she stands out as the most tranquil and collected of the group. Her composed demeanor reflects a personality that favors careful consideration over direct confrontation, and she tends to approach situations with a calm and measured attitude.

Her role in the story is primarily that of a tester or examiner. Rather than engaging in outright combat, Lottatrice conducts trials that are designed to probe the inner qualities of those she encounters. Her tests typically involve asking penetrating questions and challenging individuals to reflect on their motives and desires. In one notable instance, she forms a specific bond with the character Bouquet and administers a trial in the form of repeating dreams. Within these dreams, Lottatrice attempts to extract various emotions from Bouquet and uncover her deepest wishes.

Lottatrice's motivations are tied to the higher purpose of the Investiture Beings, which involves testing the worthiness and resolve of others as part of the larger trials related to the seven dragons. She serves as an obstacle and guide, pushing characters to understand themselves better and prove their strength of character.

Her key relationships include her encounter with General Logi, during which she reawakened his shadow Odin, leading to a confrontation that resulted in Logi's castle being set on fire. Later, she directly interacts with Shu and his group, where she unleashes her shadow and engages them in battle while discussing the purpose of the Dragon Scale tests. Lottatrice also demonstrates a softer side through her connection with Bouquet, showing that she is capable of forming personal attachments and investing in the growth of others.

In terms of development, Lottatrice initially appears as an enigmatic and formidable figure, but her interactions with the main characters reveal a deeper interest in their emotional and spiritual growth. Her bond with Bouquet, in particular, suggests that she values understanding and empathy alongside strength.

Lottatrice possesses notable abilities related to her true form, which is that of a white dragon with pink wings. She is able to manifest this form even through her shadow, allowing her to fight directly when necessary. Additionally, she has the power to create barriers, giving her both offensive and defensive capabilities. Her methods of testing often rely on psychological and emotional challenges rather than physical force, indicating a refined and subtle approach to her role.
