Description
Hyaweh is the central protagonist of the story, a student at the Rosenberg Knight Training School where he is a member of the Pegasus group. His most defining possession is the sword Ala-Gladius, known as the angel-slaying blade, which he carries from the outset of his journey. His origins are mysterious, as he fell from the sky as an infant alongside this very sword and was subsequently found and raised by his foster grandparents.

In his daily life, Hyaweh is characterized by a laid-back and carefree attitude that often borders on the absent-minded. He is known for skipping classes and forgetting his textbooks, behaving like a typical lackadaisical student. This relaxed exterior masks a natural, easygoing charm, and he often appears to be a bit of a natural airhead. Despite this, he utterly dislikes conflict and will seek to avoid a fight if given the chance. However, this aversion to violence does not stem from cowardice; when the situation demands it, he shows remarkable courage and decisiveness, stepping up without hesitation to protect those who cannot defend themselves.

Hyaweh's true talent becomes evident in combat, where he exhibits a rare and prodigious gift. While most individuals can only master one of the three primary combat disciplines—physical swordsmanship, attack magic, or recovery magic—Hyaweh possesses the unique ability to use all three effectively. This makes him an exceptionally versatile fighter. In the heat of battle, his usual lackadaisical demeanor gives way to a focused and formidable presence, revealing a "superhuman" side that his peers rarely see.

His primary role in the story is as a burgeoning knight and a key figure in the conflict against the Angels. His sword, Ala-Gladius, holds the specific power necessary to destroy these beings, making him an indispensable asset in the war. His relationship with the female lead, Priecia, is central to the narrative. He develops a deep affection for her, and their bond is crucial, as it allows them to unlock the blade's full potential. In the climax of the anime, they awaken the power of Ala-Gladius together, harnessing energy from a satellite to transform into a supernatural being capable of rivaling their most powerful foes. Ultimately, his journey leads him to embrace his role, becoming Priecia's knight and staying by her side.

Throughout the story, Hyaweh shows little to no development in his core personality traits, remaining largely the same easygoing individual he was at the beginning. The significant evolution he undergoes is not in who he is, but in his acceptance of his destiny and the external power of his sword. His background is a subject of implication rather than direct statement; he is suggested to be a divine being or perhaps linked to the "Ark," a high-tech orbital vessel, though a definitive origin is never provided. The structure of his name itself is a clue, noted to be an anagram of a name for a divine figure, hinting at his otherworldly nature.
