Description
Alan Claude is a seventeen-year-old student born on March 14 in the Edogawa district of Tokyo. He is of Mexican-Japanese descent, which leads other characters to refer to him as a gaijin, a Japanese word for foreigner. Despite his heritage, he is well-versed in Japanese history and culture, though he notably speaks in broken English. He is a senior at St. Anastasia Academy, but his circumstances suggest he is effectively a dropout and homeless, choosing to live on the streets among the local homeless population.

Alan presents himself as a comical and merry individual, easily recognized by his constant smirk and his ever-present sunglasses. This laid-back and carefree demeanor, however, masks a deeper, more thoughtful, and melancholic nature. He is someone who keeps his thoughts and feelings largely to himself, sharing this introspective quality with Sera Rikudou. Danger and threats do not seem to faze him, as he maintains a relaxed and unflappable composure even in the face of supernatural events.

His initial role in the story appears minor, with only a cameo appearance in the first season. His presence becomes more significant in the second act, where he takes on a part-time job at Club Diva. This job serves as his introduction to the main students from Magami Academy. A key relationship forms between Alan and Sera Rikudou, as he becomes a good friend to her, particularly after she loses her memory following a battle with Tatsuma Hiyuu and the others.

Alan holds a crucial, secret role in the larger supernatural conflict, as he is the Vessel of the Azure Dragon, Seiryuu. He appears to be aware of this destiny and the immense power he possesses, often likening himself to the wind. This understanding of his own nature sets him apart, as he seems to grasp more about the unfolding supernatural events than those around him. His development culminates in the final battle against the antagonist Yagyuu, where he moves to protect Tatsuma Hiyuu. By appearing through a torrential wind, he triggers a significant event, awakening the Four Gods and the Golden Dragon, an outcome he alone seemed to know would result from his arrival. This act confirms his profound connection to the elemental forces of his world and his understanding of his own purpose within it.
