Gord is a character from the online anime.hack//Roots, appearing as a player within the fictional game The World R:2. He is an ex-member of the Twilight Brigade, a guild he left under circumstances that left him with a deep-seated obsession to surpass its leader, Ovan. Later, at one of the game's Lost Grounds, Gord arrives to find the Twilight Brigade battling agents from TaN. He joins the fray and ends up in a one-on-one fight with Haseo. Haseo convinces Gord to fight alongside the Brigade one last time, and Gord uses his stolen Virus Core to allow the entire group to teleport to a hidden dungeon within the Lost Ground. Gord and the others hold off TaN while Ovan enters the dungeon alone, unaware that he is walking into a trap. After the TaN agents inexplicably flee, the Brigade searches the dungeon but finds no sign of Ovan. Gord then speaks with Phyllo, who tells him that Ovan likely will not return to the game. With his primary reason for playing gone, Gord decides to quit The World R:2, stating that he has enough problems to deal with in the real world. He is briefly seen again in the后续.hack//G.U. Returner OVA at a place called the Hidden Forbidden Festival.
