Description
Kazuhiko Nitta is a character from the visual novel and anime Soul Link. He is a male character with blonde or yellow hair that is cut to ear length and purple eyes, often depicted with an armband and gloves. He is a student at the Central Military Academy's preparatory course and is part of a class of cadets including Ryota Aizawa and Sayaka Nagase who transfer to the space station Aries for zero-gravity training. Kazuhiko is the heir to a major, nationally prominent corporation and wears a specially ordered white uniform that distinguishes him from other cadets.

By nature, Kazuhiko is a brilliant computer specialist and hacker. He is highly knowledgeable and often shares his extensive expertise with others to the point that he has been called a walking encyclopedia. Despite his intelligence, his personality is marked by a strong rivalry with the Aizawa brothers, though he holds a high degree of respect for Shuhei Aizawa in particular. This competitive attitude towards Ryota Aizawa, his classmate, stems from personal feelings; his first love, a girl named Shio, is close to Ryota, which causes Kazuhiko to treat him with frequent sarcasm and animosity. He also harbors jealousy towards Shuhei Aizawa as Shio's romantic partner. Despite his privileged background, Kazuhiko carries a deep-seated insecurity about the fact that his status as an heir means no one truly confronts him or engages with him honestly, leading to a sense of isolation.

His role in the story begins when the terrorist group Hallarax takes over the space station Aries, leading to the death of most military personnel and leaving the cadets stranded. The situation escalates further when a mysterious virus is released, turning the infected into mindless creatures and forcing all survivors to cooperate. Amidst this crisis, Kazuhiko's technical skills become a vital asset to the group as they try to escape.

Kazuhiko shares a complex relationship with his younger half-sister, Aki, and they frequently bicker and argue. However, beneath this surface conflict, they are bound by a strong emotional connection. Aki is the only person who stands up to him directly and refutes his arguments, which he comes to value deeply as a form of genuine interaction that he craves. During the escape from the Aries station, when he finds out that Aki, who had been left behind, is safe, he breaks down crying and clings to her like a child. This moment marks a significant development in his character, as he later expresses his gratitude to Ryota for saving her, showing an ability to set aside his pride and admit his thanks for the help he once resented. He also forms a strong connection with another character named Karen, with whom he shares mutual affection. His development throughout the crisis ultimately allows him to move past his petty rivalries, treat his comrades as genuine allies, and acknowledge the accomplishments of others, including praising Ryota for being hailed as a hero after the incident is resolved.
