Description
Matome Nishikujou is a supporting character from the anime and manga series Ultimate Otaku Teacher. She was originally a female high school student at the Ginkgo Academy branch of Hiiragi Academy. Before the events of the story, she died in an accident when a bookshelf fell on top of her while she was trying to draw a manga. Because she passed away with an unfulfilled desire, her spirit could not move on to the afterlife, and she remained as a ghost haunting the training camp grounds where her life ended.

Personality-wise, Matome is an active and cheerful girl who loves reading manga. She is a big fan of the popular manga artist Kisaki Tenjouin, and her own greatest ambition is to create a manga of her own. This dream is the central motivation that ties her to the world of the living. She is given the nickname "Ghost Artist" by those who encounter her, reflecting both her supernatural state and her passion for manga creation.

In the story, Matome serves as a ghostly presence that the protagonist Junichiro Kagami and the other students meet while at the Hiiragi Academy training camp. Her role is to offer a poignant insight into unfinished dreams and the importance of pursuing one's passions. Through interactions with Junichiro, whose teaching philosophy revolves around helping people follow what they truly yearn to do, Matome is given the opportunity to address her lingering regret. Her development involves coming to terms with her death and eventually finding peace, allowing her to move on.

As a ghost, Matome possesses the ability to appear to the living and interact with her environment to a limited degree. She can read manga and engage in conversation, but her spiritual nature means she is bound to the location of her death until her wish is fulfilled. Her notable ability is not a supernatural power, but rather her unwavering devotion to her dream of becoming a manga artist, which defines her character arc.
