Natsuhiko Akagawa is the deceased father of the main human character, Pokomi, also known as Pokotan. He passed away when she was very young, and from the afterlife he resides in a celestial realm called Yomiyomiland, where he watches over her with concern. His background includes a past as a pop-star, which is occasionally referenced. He is a caring and attentive parent who worries about his daughter's difficulties with schoolwork and sports, as well as her tendency to become discouraged easily. His primary motivation is to support and protect Pokomi even from beyond the grave. To this end, he uses magic seeds known as magic seals to descend to the earthly world, where he entrusts the family cat, Mamitas, with a magical cat wand called the Mirakuru Jarashi and a transformation bell called the Mirakuru Bell. These items allow Mamitas to transform into the Miracle Cat and help Pokomi when she is in need. Natsuhiko's role in the story is that of a guiding presence who sets the series' magical events in motion, serving as a benevolent source of aid for his daughter. His key relationships are with Pokomi, whom he loves deeply, and with Mamitas, whom he deputizes as her helper.
