Description
Omegamon is a Holy Knight Digimon and one of the Royal Knights, an order of elite warriors who serve Yggdrasill, the host computer that governs the Digital World. Within the events of Digital Monster X-Evolution, he is one of the story's central figures, a powerful enforcer tasked with carrying out the final stages of Project Ark, Yggdrasill's plan to purge the Digital World of its excess life. This duty places him in direct opposition to the surviving Digimon, including those who carry the X-Antibody, an immunity that grants them the strength to endure the X Program.

At the beginning of the story, Omegamon's personality is defined by absolute loyalty. He regards Yggdrasill's will as sovereign and beyond question, no matter how severe the actions required, and he believes the Royal Knights have no right to doubt their orders. He dismisses X-Antibody Digimon as foreign contaminants that must be removed for the Digital World to be renewed, and he presses for immediate, decisive action whenever the resistance is discussed. His commitment to duty is so complete that when he is summoned to deal with a group of X-Antibody Digimon seeking dialogue, he attacks them and, to the astonishment of the Digimon who requested his help, turns his power on them as well.

As the conflict unfolds, Omegamon's convictions are gradually shaken. He is repeatedly bewildered by the determination of DORUmon and Tokomon, two small Digimon who refuse to give up even when he swats them aside, and his ordered mission becomes complicated when War Greymon (X-Antibody) and Metal Garurumon (X-Antibody) step in to protect them. During the ensuing battle, Omegamon mortally wounds Metal Garurumon (X-Antibody), a deed that deepens rather than settles his internal conflict. When his fellow Royal Knight Dukemon confronts him about Yggdrasill's true intentions, the two settle their disagreement in a duel, and Omegamon ends it by impaling Dukemon with the Grey Sword. Victory brings him no peace. He is left questioning his purpose, the meaning of his actions, and the sincerity of both Dukemon and Yggdrasill. A brief attempt to share his doubts with Magnamon only increases his unease, and when Magnamon captures DORUmon and later reveals that the overwhelming swarm of Death-X-DORUguremon was part of Yggdrasill's design, Omegamon is horrified and resolves to confront Yggdrasill directly to learn the truth.

This marks the turning point in his development. When DORUmon, having evolved into DORUguremon, enters the Royal Knights' domain, Omegamon challenges him to a duel to measure his intentions, acknowledging that the two of them now want the same thing. DORUmon offers no resistance, and before the finishing blow can land, he evolves into Alphamon. Recognizing Alphamon's determination, Omegamon sets aside his old allegiances and allies with him. The pair face the immense Death-X-DORUgoramon together, and although Omegamon cannot defeat it alone, Alphamon destroys the threat. They then make their way into Yggdrasill's domain, but the host computer refuses to respond, forcing them to conclude that the only way to stop the Digital World's collapse is to destroy Yggdrasill. When Alphamon sacrifices himself in the form of Alphamon: Ouryuken to clear the path, he passes the remainder of his strength to Omegamon, who evolves into Omegamon (X-Antibody). In this form, he pierces Yggdrasill with All Delete and resets the Digital World, completing the very transformation his master had feared and bringing about a new beginning. In the closing moments of the story, Omegamon and Dukemon observe the reborn world together, reflecting on Yggdrasill's decisions while watching DORUmon and Tokomon play in peace.

Omegamon's relationships are central to his journey. Yggdrasill is the authority he serves without question and ultimately defies. Dukemon is both his comrade and his ideological mirror, and their confrontation forces Omegamon to confront the moral weight of obedience; they end the story reconciled. Magnamon represents unwavering fealty and helps reveal the true cost of Project Ark. DORUmon, who later becomes Alphamon, moves from prey to rival to partner, and it is Alphamon's sacrifice that gifts Omegamon the strength needed to reshape the Digital World.

As a warrior, Omegamon is a multi-type fighter who combines the traits of War Greymon and Metal Garurumon. His right arm, shaped like Metal Garurumon, houses the Garuru Cannon, which fires absolute zero cold rounds capable of freezing enemies, as well as missile launchers. His left arm, shaped like War Greymon, wields the Grey Sword, an invincible blade, together with a shield. His cape deploys automatically when he dodges attacks or takes to the air. After gaining the X-Antibody, his power is augmented significantly; he acquires the Omega inforce, an ability that lets him read and instantly respond to combat conditions, and the All Delete technique, a devastating attack that can pierce through and reset the core of the Digital World itself.
