Description
Phil Ackman is a Moonrace officer in the anime Turn A Gundam, appearing in the television series and its two compilation films, including the second movie that is sometimes referred to as Moon Butterfly. He is 25 years old and holds the rank of captain in the Dianna Counter, the military force that accompanies Queen Dianna Soreil on the Moonrace's return to Earth, and he is later promoted to major. Ackman serves as the field commander of the first return fleet and as a repatriation convoy commander, and he initially joins the Earth return operation as an assistant to the operation's commander, Colonel Aji. After Aji is killed during a diplomatic meeting, Ackman gains effective control of the Dianna Counter forces.
In personality, Ackman is a hardline military man with a strong martial temperament. He advocates resolving the conflict with Earth through force and looks down on Earth's people as barbarians, dismissing their resistance as something to be crushed rather than negotiated with.
