Description
Lee Jenrya is one of the main human protagonists in the anime Digimon Tamers: Runaway Locomon. He is a ten-year-old boy who is half-Chinese and half-Japanese. He is the partner of the Digimon Terriermon and the older brother of Lee Shaochung. He is known for his calm and thoughtful demeanor, often acting as a stabilising influence among his friends. His initial pacifist attitude stems from a past event when he realised he had inadvertently harmed Digimon through a computer game, leading him to promise Terriermon that he would never force him to fight again. Over time, however, he comes to understand that some battles are necessary to protect others, and he develops a more balanced sense of responsibility without abandoning his core desire for peace.

In the movie Runaway Locomon, Jenrya demonstrates his protective nature when he is travelling on a train with Terriermon, his sister Suzie, and the Digimon Lopmon. When the rampaging Locomon materialises in the real world and disrupts the railway system, Jenrya takes charge of the situation. He leaves his sister behind in a safe location and, after accidentally taking Lopmon instead of Terriermon, joins forces with fellow Tamers Kazu and Kenta to pursue Locomon using a hijacked train car. During the chase, he switches Lopmon for Terriermon and later biomerges with his partner to become MegaGargomon, fighting against the Parasimon that appear in Shinjuku. After the conflict is resolved, he participates in Rika Nonaka's birthday party, showing his continued bond with the group.

Key relationships shape his actions: he is deeply protective of his younger sister Suzie and often acts as a guardian figure. His partnership with Terriermon is founded on mutual trust, with Terriermon's energetic and playful personality balancing Jenrya's more serious nature. He is a close friend and ally to Takato Matsuki and Rika Nonaka, and he works well with the other Tamers during the crisis.

Jenrya’s development in the movie reflects his growth from a reluctant fighter into someone who willingly uses his abilities to defend others. He remains thoughtful and careful, but he no longer hesitates when a clear threat emerges. His notable abilities include his skill in Tai Chi, a martial art he studies alongside his father, which he integrates into his DigiModify and biomerge sequences. As a Tamer, he can use his D-Ark to modify his Digimon’s attacks with cards and, at higher levels, to biomerge with Terriermon into the Mega-level form MegaGargomon, granting him enhanced combat capabilities that he uses effectively against the Parasimon swarm. His technical knowledge also makes him an adept user of computers and network scanning, though this is less prominent in the movie compared to the main series.
