TV-Series
Description
Dengakuman is a character whose name is directly connected to dengaku, a snack food consisting of grilled tofu dipped in miso on a stick, which is also his favorite food. He serves as the small, white, cute mascot character of the group, being a super deformed creature with a pointy head and a ball attached to it. He claims to be a dog, and his age is given as five years old, or thirty-five in dog years.

His background reveals a lonely origin. During his childhood, he was raised by a mother dog on a farm alongside six other puppies. Due to his strange appearance, he was rejected by his siblings and constantly bullied, which led him to leave home and eventually join the Maruhage Empire. Despite his diminutive and weak appearance, he was ironically appointed as the head of the Z-Block, the most powerful of the Hair Hunting blocks.

Personality-wise, Dengakuman is often portrayed as a happy little creature, but he has a violent and at times bipolar temperament. However, he is most frequently depicted as an extremely weak character with no real power, often getting ignored or abused by his own allies. His major concerns in life are making people eat dengaku and making as many friends as possible, a desire that stems from his lonely past. His trademark line is, "We'll make 'em eat grilled tofu dipped in miso on a stick!".

His role in the story begins as an antagonist. When Bo-bobo arrives to destroy Z-Block, Dengakuman is forced to fight but fails miserably at every challenge. After breaking down and explaining his background, Bo-bobo teaches him the true meaning of friendship. Dengakuman repays this lesson by saving the group's lives with a technique called the Super Dengaku Punch, after which he permanently joins the team as a friend and ally.

Key relationships include his bond with Bo-bobo, who taught him about friendship but also frequently uses him as a projectile to throw at enemies. He seems to get along well with Tokoro Tennosuke, and the two are often seen together. Later in the series, he abandons the rebels to join an enemy leader's female supporters but attempts to sabotage the villain from within.

In terms of development, Dengakuman transitions from a lonely leader of an empire block to a true member of the rebel team, though his lack of combat prowess means he often winds up in comical situations like falling into a giant toilet or hanging from a ceiling during major fights. Despite this, he occasionally proves his usefulness.

His notable abilities include the Super Dengaku Punch, a charged punch powerful enough to break a cage and free his friends. He also has other attacks such as the Dengaku Honey Butter Cannon Blast and the Coincidental Double Dengaku Punch. Furthermore, he can fuse with Bo-bobo to create a blonde magical popstar named Denbo, and if Bo-bobo is in his super form, they fuse into Super Denbo-chan.
