Description
Chibi-Usa is the daughter of Usagi Tsukino and Mamoru Chiba from the 30th century, where they rule as Neo-Queen Serenity and King Endymion. In her own time, she is known as the Small Lady, a princess of Crystal Tokyo. Her real name is also Usagi, but she is called Chibi-Usa, which means "Small Rabbit," a nickname that reflects her small stature and connection to her mother. She is approximately nine years old and was born on June 30th, giving her the astrological sign of Cancer.

Chibi-Usa's personality is a mixture of childish brattiness and a deep desire to be seen as a mature, graceful lady. She often finds herself at odds with her past self mother, Usagi, as the two share many of the same flaws, including a love of arguing, a tendency to be stubborn, and a dislike for studying. Chibi-Usa has a particular fondness for pudding and collecting rabbit-themed items, while she famously dislikes carrots. Her hobbies include drawing and her strong point is getting other people to give her what she wants.

Her primary motivation throughout her appearances is twofold: to save her parents and the future of Crystal Tokyo, and to prove herself worthy of being a princess and a Sailor Guardian. Chibi-Usa initially travels to the past to retrieve the legendary Silver Crystal, also known as the Ginzuishou, which she needs to save her mother's life. This mission is complicated by the fact that the crystal had become a part of her without her realizing it. The villain Wiseman exploited her feelings of guilt and insecurity, brainwashing her and transforming her into the dark adult form known as Black Lady, a corrupted version of her dream to become a beautiful lady.

In the specific story of "Ami's First Love," Chibi-Usa plays a supporting role, acting as an observer and participant in the events surrounding Ami. While walking home from school, she is tempted by an ice cream shop but tries to dismiss it as childish, revealing her ongoing internal conflict between acting her age and wanting to be more grown up. She spends time with Ami, staying at her apartment and going to her cram school under the pretense of studying, as she finds it difficult to study at Usagi's noisy house. Through this, she gains a deeper appreciation for Ami's diligent and serious nature. Later, she takes on a more active role by delivering a farewell gift from the other Sailor Guardians to Ami at the airport, using her magical item, the Luna-P, to conjure the present for her friend.

Her key relationships are complex and deeply intertwined with the main cast. Her most significant dynamic is with her mother, Usagi. While she often fights with her and claims to find her annoying, Chibi-Usa shares a close bond with her and genuinely loves her. She also has a notable crush on her father, Mamoru, which creates a humorous rivalry with Usagi even after she learns he is her future father. Among the Sailor Guardians, she is particularly close to Sailor Pluto, who gave her the Luna-P, a transforming ball that served as her constant companion. She is also friends with Sailor Jupiter and Sailor Saturn. The other guardians generally find her cute, with Sailor Mercury in particular understanding her and connecting with her on a personal level.

Throughout the series, Chibi-Usa undergoes significant development. She evolves from a mysterious, demanding child in the second season into a more mature and capable individual. A major milestone in this growth is when she awakens as a Sailor Guardian in her own right, becoming Sailor Chibi Moon. In the Sailor Moon SuperS arc, her development is further highlighted when she meets Helios, a guardian trapped in the form of a pegasus who appears in her dreams. This relationship marks her first real romance, separate from her childish crush on her father, and she plays a crucial role in protecting his sealed form.

As a Sailor Guardian, her notable abilities include attacks such as the Pink Sugar Heart Attack and the Moon Gorgeous Meditation. In her Super Sailor Chibi Moon form, she gains access to more powerful attacks, often performed in tandem with Sailor Moon, like the Double Moon Kick. She also possesses the Luna-P, a magical tool created by Sailor Pluto that can transform into various shapes and objects, such as the gift she creates for Ami.
