Moena Shinguuji is a young student at an academy who leads an ordinary life working as a waitress at her aunt's cafe on campus. She is not physically developed, with medium-length brown hair and red eyes. Her background is defined by the heart-shaped amulet given to her by her parents, which allows her to transform into the super heroine Angel Blade. At first, she is unaware of her dual identity; the transformation occurs involuntarily when danger arises. It is only after the pendant is damaged near the end of the first episode that Moena's consciousness gains control over the Angel Blade body, forcing her to confront her role as a protector. Her personality is initially that of a typical, somewhat sheltered teenager, but she grows more determined and responsible as she learns about the threat posed by the organization Dark Mother and its leader, Phantom Lady. Moena's primary motivation is to defend innocent women from the mutants unleashed by the villains, driven by a sense of justice instilled by her parents, who developed her powers and uniform for that purpose.
