TV-Series
Description
Norman is one half of the Viking Brothers, a duo of combatants who participate in the Metal Fight competitions within the Red Baron anime. Alongside his partner Orjin, Norman is a large, physically imposing figure who embodies a rough, boastful, and aggressive demeanor, reflecting the self-proclaimed Viking persona he and his brother adopt. The pair pilots the King Ox, a powerful mecha designed for brute strength and straightforward, heavy-hitting combat, which complements Norman's straightforward and confrontational fighting style. As rivals to Ken Kurenai and his team, Norman and Orjin initially appear as antagonists, driven by pride in their own abilities and a desire to prove the superiority of their fighting methods. Over the course of the series, however, they undergo a notable shift in allegiance. As the true nature of the Iron Mask organization and the genocidal plans of the supercomputer Sigma are revealed, the Viking Brothers set aside their personal ambitions to aid Ken and his allies in the final battle. In a significant act of sacrifice and redemption, Norman and Orjin, along with other former enemies, are captured and used as a living energy source by Sigma and its false Ken clone, becoming trapped and drained of their life force. They are ultimately rescued through the combined efforts of Isao Kumano and Doctor Freud, and they then choose to fight on the side of the protagonists, contributing their strength to the climactic struggle against Sigma. This arc from rival to reluctant ally to willing hero demonstrates a capacity for growth and loyalty, marking Norman as a character who evolves beyond his initial role as a simple physical threat.
