Description
Makumou is an elderly bird residing on Angel Island, appearing as a supporting character in the anime Kyoro-chan. He has greyish-blue feathers, a beard, and commonly wears a hat. Makumou lives alone and is known for his gentle and knowledgeable nature. He holds a driver's license for both cars and motorcycles, indicating a practical skill set. His motivation centers on maintaining quiet companionship and fond memories of his past. Makumou's primary role in the story is as a friend and occasional companion to Rinkuru, Mikken's grandmother. The two often spend time together going for walks or sunbathing, and their bond reflects a long-standing friendship. In his youth, Makumou was in love with Rinkuru, but his feelings remained unrequited after she went to the city to attend a confectionery school; this past disappointment is a subtle part of his character background. He also holds deep reverence for his mother, making it a tradition to place her favorite flowers by her photograph on her birthday, which is also the anniversary of her death. Throughout the series, Makumou does not undergo significant development but serves as a stable, kindly elder figure in the community. His gentle disposition and life experience allow him to offer quiet wisdom when needed, and his personal history adds a layer of bittersweet warmth to his presence.
