Description
Lionel is a young Chinese sorcerer from Hong Kong and an indirect descendant of the powerful magician Clow Reed. He first arrives in the town of Tomoeda with the goal of capturing the magical Clow Cards that have been scattered by Sakura Kinomoto. In the film Cardcaptor Sakura Movie 2: The Sealed Card, Lionel returns to Tomoeda for a visit after having spent time in Hong Kong following the events of the television series.
Initially, Lionel is distant, competitive, and quick to criticize Sakura, seeing her as a rival for the cards. However, over the course of the series and into the movie, he matures into a caring and loyal friend. His personality softens as he spends more time with Sakura and witnesses her kindness and determination.
