Description
Masamune Kadoya is a major character in the Beyblade: Metal Masters anime, serving as a deuteragonist and a key member of Team Gan Gan Galaxy. He is a high-energy, talkative blader who arrives from the United States to challenge Gingka Hagane for the title of the world's best blader. Masamune is defined by his impulsive, arrogant, and persistent nature, often loudly proclaiming himself the number one blader in the world even after repeated defeats. Despite his brash exterior, he is deeply loyal to his friends and possesses a strong sense of determination that drives him never to give up in a battle.

Masamune was born in Japan but moved to America to train. He shares a complicated past with Toby and Zeo Abyss, his former teammates from Team Star Breaker; the three once made a promise to become the world's top bladers, but Toby's illness motivated Masamune to push himself even harder. In the story, he initially seeks personal glory and constantly challenges Gingka, leading to a fierce sibling-like rivalry filled with heated arguments. Over the course of the World Championship, his role transitions from a solo challenger to a true team player who learns to fight for the sake of others. He faces his past in America during the tournament finals and grows to understand the value of teamwork, becoming a reliable striker for his team.

His primary Beyblade is Ray Striker D125CS, an attack-type top with incredible speed and power. Its bit-beast is the unicorn Ray Unicorno, which can appear to teleport by transforming into rays of green light. Masamune's battle style relies on lightning-quick strikes and evasive maneuvers. His special moves include Lightning Sword Flash, which concentrates all his attack power into a single devastating blow, and Lightning Flash, which delivers a barrage of rapid lightning-infused attacks. Later, he upgrades to Blitz Striker 100RSF, which offers mode changes between a barrage pattern and a more controlled, powerful offense. His key relationships include his rivalry and eventual friendship with Gingka, his bonds with teammates Tsubasa Otori, Yu Tendo, and team mechanic Madoka Amano, and the emotional weight of his history with Toby and Zeo. Throughout Metal Masters, Masamune develops from a boastful loner into a mature blader who understands that true strength comes from supporting others.
