Description
Damian Hart is a central antagonist introduced in the Beyblade: Metal Masters series, serving as the formidable captain of Team Star Breaker, which represents the United States in the World Beyblade Championships. His past is largely unknown, as he was discovered and recruited by the scientist Dr. Ziggurat to participate in a secret project at the HD Academy. There, Damian underwent the highest level of a process known as the Arrangement System, an experimental procedure designed to artificially enhance a blader's abilities and create a perfect, forced synchronization between a blader and their Beyblade. He was paired with the powerful Beyblade Hades Kerbecs BD145DS, becoming its sole owner and the designated "Perfect Arrangement" of Dr. Ziggurat's program.

In terms of personality, Damian is initially portrayed as a ruthless, arrogant, and sadistic blader who takes immense pleasure in overpowering his opponents and shattering their spirits. His battle style is not merely about winning but about absolute domination; he relishes sending opposing Beyblades into a dark, hellish dimension he calls Hades, believing it to be a realm of despair from which there is no escape. He is deeply loyal to Dr. Ziggurat and views himself as a chosen blader, with his artificially enhanced power being the ultimate testament to that status. He frequently mocks his adversaries, calling them weak and dismissing the value of natural talent and effort in favor of the scientific power he has been given. However, beneath this veneer of confidence lies a fragile ego entirely dependent on his artificial enhancements. When faced with bladers who possess genuine, unyielding willpower, Damian’s composure cracks, leading to fits of rage and, ultimately, a complete mental breakdown.

Damian’s primary motivation is to prove the supremacy of Dr. Ziggurat's Arrangement System and to validate his own existence as the chosen one. He seeks to destroy any opponent who stands in the way of Team Star Breaker, viewing each battle as an opportunity to demonstrate his superiority. His role in the story is that of a major obstacle for the protagonist team, Gan Gan Galaxy. He is sent by Dr. Ziggurat on a mission to retrieve the powerful blader Ryuga, during which he brutally defeats Tsubasa Otori and Yu Tendo, sending them to the hospital and showcasing his immense and terrifying power early on. In the competition, he single-handedly dismantles Team Excalibur, overpowering their leader Julian Konzern and then defeating the team's legendary trio combined, cementing his reputation as one of the world's strongest bladers. He later faces Gingka Hagane in the final round of the championships. Although he overwhelms Gingka for most of the match, he ultimately loses to Gingka's ultimate willpower, a shock that causes him to faint. His most significant relationship is with his rival, Kyoya Tategami. After recovering from his loss to Gingka, Damian confronts Kyoya inside Hades City. In this battle, Kyoya refuses to be intimidated, taunting Damian about being a mere scientific experiment rather than a true blader. This psychological assault, combined with Kyoya's raw power, forces Damian into a state of psychotic rage. He loses control, and Kyoya ultimately defeats him, dragging Damian’s spirit from his artificial world of Hades into the natural wilderness where Kyoya rules. This defeat completely crushes Damian’s ego and sense of self, leading to his final mental collapse.

Damian’s development throughout the series is a descent from an unbeatable, cold-blooded champion to a broken individual. His losses to Gingka and especially Kyoya reveal the fundamental weakness of the Arrangement System: it cannot replicate the heart and willpower of a true blader who has grown strong through experience and personal struggle. His final fate is left unclear, as he is last seen aboard a security boat with his teammate Jack, watching Dr. Ziggurat’s Hades City sink into the sea, and he does not reappear in subsequent series.

As a blader, Damian possesses several notable abilities derived from his arrangement, granting him immense stamina and a supernatural connection to his Beyblade. His Beyblade, Hades Kerbecs, is a powerful defensive and offensive type with the ability to change modes. Damian’s primary special move is Hades Drive, which engulfs the entire stadium in a massive wave of hellish flames. His ultimate attack is Hades Gate, a devastating technique that opens a portal to the underworld. From this gate, chains emerge to ensnare the opponent's Beyblade and drag it, along with the blader’s spirit, into a dark dimension where Kerbecs can devour them. It was a technique so powerful that even the legendary trio of Team Excalibur could not withstand it. Only Gingka and Kyoya were ever able to enter the gate and successfully defeat him.
