Description
Daidouji is a major antagonist who returns in Beyblade: Metal Fury, having previously been a central villain in the first season of the Metal Saga. His full name, Daidouji, is the Japanese version of the name more commonly known as Doji in English adaptations. Prior to the events of Metal Fury, he was the leader of the Dark Nebula organization and a close ally to the powerful blader Ryuga. Together, they stole the forbidden bey, Lightning L-Drago. However, this alliance ended disastrously for Daidouji when Ryuga was consumed by L-Drago's dark power and attacked him, draining most of his life energy.

This near-fatal encounter drastically changed Daidouji both physically and in terms of his role. When he appears in Beyblade: Metal Fury, he is a scarred and diminished figure. His previous sharp appearance, marked by a purple suit and hexagonal glasses, has been replaced by a more tattered and old-fashioned look. He now wears a long grey coat, a frilly white cravat, and a monocle; a prominent scar passes over his other eye, which is often hidden by his lighter grey hair. He requires a walking cane and has an artificial leg, a direct consequence of his brutal encounter with Ryuga and L-Drago.

Despite his physical state, Daidouji's personality remains that of a cunning and relentless schemer. He is extremely arrogant, speaking in a polite but deeply condescending tone, often addressing others as "my friend" while clearly viewing them as inferior tools. His cruelty is matched only by his refusal to give up on his ambitions. Having been betrayed by Ryuga, his motivations have shifted from ruling the world through Dark Nebula to a more fanatical desire for power and revenge, though he maintains a facade of cold intellect. He finds great enjoyment in psychological manipulation, particularly taunting his former protégé, Ryuga, to provoke him and disrupt his plans.

In the storyline of Beyblade: Metal Fury, Daidouji serves as a key agent for the primary antagonists. Seeking to align himself with an unstoppable force, he locates Rago and the other members of the Nemesis Bladers, bringing them to his mysterious benefactor, Pluto. By doing so, he reveals that his earlier actions, including his work with Ryuga, were all part of a larger scheme orchestrated by Hades Inc to revive the God of Destruction, Nemesis. His main function in the plot is to act as a herald for the ultimate evil, using his knowledge and cunning to serve Nemesis's awakening while settling old scores.

His most significant relationship remains with Ryuga, which is defined by a deep and bitter animosity. Where he once sought to control and use Ryuga's power, Daidouji now openly mocks and degrades him, calling him a mere pawn. This psychological warfare is a key part of his strategy. He also forms an alliance of convenience with Pluto, working alongside him diligently to ensure Nemesis's revival. Additionally, he remains an enemy of the protagonist Gingka Hagane and the other Legendary Bladers, though his personal vendetta against Ryuga often takes precedence.

Daidouji does not undergo a positive change or redemption. Instead, his development is a descent into greater obsession and desperation. Having lost his organization and his body, he is driven purely by a need to see his grand, destructive plan succeed, largely as a way to spite those who wronged him. He appears to meet his end once more during the final battle against Nemesis, falling from a great height, though his tenacity has proven to be nearly unkillable.

As a blader, Daidouji is highly skilled and strategic. His primary beyblade is Dark Wolf DF145FS. While he uses this bey in Metal Fury, he is far more effective as a behind-the-scenes manipulator than a frontline fighter in his weakened state. His most notable special move, which he demonstrated in his prime, is Darkness Howling Blazer, a powerful attack capable of overwhelming skilled opponents. However, his true ability lies in his intellect, his talent for emotional exploitation, and his relentless, patient pursuit of his goals regardless of the personal cost.
