TV-Series
Description
Koko, also romanized as Coco, is an alien character and the younger sister of Haru in the anime Tsuritama. Her background is defined by an extraterrestrial mission she shares with her brother, which brings her to Earth and into the story taking place in the coastal town of Enoshima.
Koko's personality stands in sharp contrast to Haru's carefree and eccentric nature. She is serious, pragmatic, and deeply responsible, often acting as the more mature figure in their sibling dynamic. She can come across as bossy and strict, and she places a strong emphasis on keeping promises. Her direct and no-nonsense approach to problems reflects a highly goal-oriented mindset.
Her primary motivation is the fulfillment of the mission she and Haru are undertaking, which involves searching for a figure named Sakura. Beyond this objective, she is driven by a strong protective instinct toward her brother. She feels a heavy sense of duty to guide him and ensure their shared goals are accomplished safely.
Within the story, Koko serves as a supporting figure who initially operates with a degree of distance from the main human characters. When the antagonist force known as JFX threatens Enoshima, Koko takes direct action using her abilities, but her initial plan fails. This failure forces a shift in her role, compelling her to abandon a solitary approach and work alongside Yuki Sanada, Natsuki Usami, and Akira Agarkar Yamada, forming a collaborative effort to save the day.
Character development for Koko centers on her learning to trust and rely on others. Her previously self-sufficient and mission-focused worldview is challenged as she witnesses the strength of the bonds formed between the human boys. This experience teaches her the value of teamwork and allows her to open up beyond her strict and guarded exterior.
Regarding notable abilities, Koko wields a distinctive water pistol shaped like a dolphin. When she fires this pistol at a target, she gains the ability to briefly control their actions, making her a formidable figure in a confrontation despite her young age and smaller stature.
