Description
Kite Unabara is a main protagonist from Beyblade: Shogun Steel. He is a tall, slightly muscular individual with olive skin, spiky brown hair, thin eyebrows, and deep blue eyes concealed behind glasses. His typical attire consists of a green-collared shirt with a red necktie, worn beneath a large white lab coat with blue and yellow lines. He completes this outfit with tight navy-blue pants and dress shoes, both adorned with yellow lines.
Kite is a self-proclaimed Beyblade researcher, and this title heavily influences his personality and battling style. He is fiercely intelligent, cocky, and normally carries a calm, analytical demeanor. His approach to battles is methodical; he conducts extensive research on his opponents' Beyblades to create strategies that exploit their weaknesses. This confidence in his intellect often leads him to believe victory is certain, though he is not always correct.
When his calculations fail and his predetermined strategies are overcome, Kite undergoes a dramatic shift. He suffers a mental breakdown, losing his composure and becoming reckless. In this state, he discards his glasses and abandons his usual defensive tactics for a relentless offensive onslaught, delivering constant blows to his opponent. Despite his ferocity in this state, he reverts to his normal, calm self as soon as the battle concludes. Outside of battle, Kite is capable of enjoying leisure time, such as swimming with his friends, and has a noticeable appetite, once comically stealing and devouring a lobster meant for his companion, Zyro Kurogane.
Kite is the older brother of Eight Unabara, and their relationship is central to his character. He maintains a deep, brotherly love and compassion for Eight, and is fiercely protective of him. He does not take kindly to anyone who harms or defeats his younger brother, often stepping in to demand a rematch as a form of vengeance. However, Kite can become so absorbed in his research that he neglects Eight, at one point even smacking a tray of sandwiches out of his brother's hands. Despite these occasional lapses, their bond remains strong, and they consistently work together as a team.
