TV-Series
Description
Cathy Katherine is a supporting character in the second year of the anime, identified by her distinctive cat-like appearance. She is a student at Heartland Academy, recognizable by her silver-gray hair styled with two clips that form the shape of cat ears, large green eyes, and square-framed glasses. Her typical attire includes the school uniform, but she is more often seen in gothic lolita-style clothing featuring cat motifs, such as dresses with attached tails and clawed gloves. In the second series, her casual outfit changes to a magenta and black shirt with a bell at the neck, paired with black shorts and a cat tail accessory.

Cathy is a shy and lonely girl who harbors a deep, unspoken romantic affection for the protagonist, Yuma Tsukumo. Her personality is heavily defined by a profound obsession with cats, which manifests in nearly every aspect of her behavior. She decorates her home with cat-themed items, speaks using cat-like mannerisms, often ending her sentences with a soft "meow" or interjecting the word "cat," and has created her own version of Yuma's catchphrase, calling it "Cattobingu". She exhibits typical feline behaviors when agitated, such as using her sharp nails to scratch those who insult Yuma, and she has a demonstrated strong dislike for dogs. Her defining motivation throughout the story is to get closer to Yuma and earn his attention, which initially leads to conflict with her friendly rival for his affection, Tori Meadows.

Early in the series, Cathy goes to extreme lengths in her pursuit of Yuma, including breaking into his home to swap his clothes and using her cats to temporarily abduct Tori, all to create an opportunity to get closer to him. She challenges Yuma to a Duel during her first major appearance, which becomes a turning point, as Yuma unknowingly helps her gain the confidence to speak to him directly. Following this, she joins the Super Secret Number Cards Investigation Club, becoming a regular member of Yuma's friend group and remaining a steadfast ally throughout the World Duel Carnival and the subsequent conflict with the Barian world.

Her key relationships evolve significantly over the course of the narrative. Her initial rivalry with Tori Meadows is competitive and tense, driven by jealousy over Yuma's attention. However, through shared trials, including being forced to work together during a duelingsports tournament and later being brainwashed by the Barian, their relationship matures into a more amicable, if still slightly competitive, friendship. During the final story arc, Cathy demonstrates significant personal growth when she selflessly encourages Tori to accompany Yuma to the Astral World. Confessing that she feels she would not be of help on such a journey, she tearfully asserts that Tori is the better person for the task, showcasing her maturity and genuine care for Yuma's wellbeing over her own romantic desires.

Cathy possesses a unique and notable ability to communicate with and control cats, often deploying an army of them to gather information or perform tasks. Complementing this, she displays a high degree of physical agility, with jumping and climbing skills that allow her to escape traps and navigate buildings with ease. In her role as a Duelist, she uses a Cat-themed Deck focused on swarming the field with low-level monsters like Stray Cat and locking down the opponent's strategies. Her signature ace monsters include the Rank 1 Xyz Monster Twin-Tail Cat Lady and, later in the World Duel Carnival, the Rank 4 Cat Girl Magician. Throughout the World Duel Carnival and the battle against the Barian, she is portrayed as a capable Duelist, managing to collect multiple Heart Pieces and even sacrificing her own victory to help a shy opponent gain confidence.
