Description
Christopher Arclight, known primarily as Five or by his alias V, is the eldest son of Byron Arclight, who later renames himself Tron. Originally living a happy life with his father and two younger brothers, Thomas (Three) and Michael (Four), Five's world changed when his father became involved in Dr. Faker's experiments to find a door to parallel dimensions. Five assisted his father and the adventurer Kazuma Tsukumo in this research. However, Dr. Faker betrayed the group, offering Byron and Kazuma as sacrifices to open a portal. When Byron returned, his form was warped into that of a child, and he swore revenge, adopting the name Tron. Following this tragedy, Five's younger brothers were sent to an institution while Five remained at Dr. Faker's facility to learn the truth about his father. In this period, he became the mentor to Kite Tenjo, teaching him how to duel to protect his own younger brother, Hart. Upon discovering Dr. Faker's betrayal, Five left and fully committed to his father's revenge, taking the name V to hide their identities.

Physically, Five is a tall young man standing at approximately 185 centimeters and weighing around 70 kilograms. He possesses long, flowing silver hair with light purple fringes and a single streak of light green in the middle. His blue eyes are often calm and calculating. The crest of the Tron family, which grants him special powers, is located on his forehead and is blue in color, distinguishing him from his brothers who bear their crests on their hands. He also wears a green Duel Gazer tattoo.

Five is portrayed as the most rational and calm member of the Tron family, often displaying a level-headedness that can even surpass that of his father. As the eldest brother, he typically acts as a stabilizing force, keeping his younger and more impulsive brother Four in line, and he has a notably warmer, more protective relationship with his gentle-natured brother Three. Despite his composed exterior, Five harbors an intense and deep-seated hatred for Dr. Faker for the destruction of his family. This anger can surface during duels, where he is known to act with cold ruthlessness and has shown an arrogant and egotistical side, such as when he became enraged after taking a mere 400 points of damage from Yuma Tsukumo. His loyalty to his father, Tron, is absolute, and he tolerates no disrespect toward him. After his father's revenge arc concludes and Tron returns to his original persona, Five's kinder and more gentle nature, which he displayed in his youth, re-emerges, and he fully reconciles with Kite Tenjo.

Five's primary motivation throughout the first half of the series is to exact revenge on Dr. Faker for his betrayal and the suffering inflicted upon his family. He is the most dedicated of his brothers to this cause, serving as a key strategist and executor of Tron's plans. This includes participating in the World Duel Carnival to gather Numbers and further their objectives. He personally kidnaps Hart Tenjo to use his powers for Tron's ritual. His role in the story evolves significantly over time. He begins as a primary antagonist, but after his defeat and subsequent awakening from a coma, he abandons his vengeful path. In the second series, Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL II, he becomes a valuable ally to Yuma Tsukumo and Kite. Using his scientific expertise, he helps develop a device to travel to the Astral World and later aids in the battle against the forces of Barian World.

His relationships are central to his character. His bond with his brothers is strong, particularly with Three, whose suffering he visibly struggles to witness. His relationship with Four is more contentious due to Four's brash nature, but he still cares for him deeply. His student-mentor relationship with Kite Tenjo is complex; he trained Kite ruthlessly to unlock his potential and later felt responsible for the path Kite took. Their duel in the World Duel Carnival finals is a turning point, where Five, after being defeated, entrusts Kite with his Number 9: Dyson Sphere and acknowledges Kite as a true brother figure.

Five undergoes a clear character development. He starts as a revenge-driven antagonist, cold and stoic, solely focused on his father's mission. His defeat by Kite and subsequent coma represent the end of this path. Upon awakening, he is transformed, returning to his original kind and gentle self. He becomes a proactive force for good, using his intellect to aid the protagonists and even creating the Rank-Up-Magic Argent Chaos Force card to help in the final battles against the Barians.

Notably, Five possesses abilities beyond those of a standard duelist. The crest granted to him by his father is connected directly to his soul. It grants him powers such as telekinesis, demonstrated when he levitates Hart Tenjo, and the ability to take control of another person's will. He uses this to effortlessly kidnap Hart. However, this power comes with a severe risk: if he loses a duel while wielding a powerful Number, his soul will be exhausted, and he will fall into a comatose state. In dueling, he is a formidable strategist. His deck focuses on Space Technology, featuring Machine-type monsters such as his signature card, Number 9: Dyson Sphere, a colossal satellite. His strategy often involves burn damage, using Spell and Trap Cards based on the concept of hell to counter high-attack monsters and conserve his own Life Points. In ZEXAL II, he continues to use his Dyson Sphere deck, incorporating new support cards to summon it more efficiently and the Rank-Up-Magic Argent Chaos Force card he invented to evolve it into Number C9: Chaos Dyson Sphere.
