Description
Chi-Chi, also known as Milk in certain language localizations, is a human character who appears as a supporting figure in Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods. Born the daughter of the Ox-King, she was once the princess of Fire Mountain and displayed an innocent, shy nature as a child before developing a strong-willed, fiery, and fiercely protective personality. Her primary motivations revolve around the well-being and education of her family, particularly her husband Son Goku and their two sons, Son Gohan and Son Goten. She strongly opposes involving her children in dangerous battles, instead pushing them toward academic and domestic life, a stance that often puts her at odds with Goku's Saiyan-driven love for training and fighting. In Battle of Gods, Chi-Chi accompanies her family to a party hosted by Bulma, where she continues to enforce her strict, motherly rules and provides moments of grounded comedy amid the cosmic events. Her role in the story is that of an emotional anchor, representing normalcy and family values within the extraordinary world of the Z Fighters. Key relationships include her devoted but often exasperating marriage to Goku, her nurturing yet demanding motherhood with Gohan and Goten, and her friendships with Bulma and other Earthlings. A product of her own martial arts training during her youth, Chi-Chi retains basic combat skills, though she rarely participates in major fights. In the film, she does not demonstrate any superhuman abilities or notable feats of strength, remaining a purely human character whose significance is emotional and relational rather than combative. Her development throughout the series shows her gradual acceptance that her family will inevitably be caught up in planetary threats, yet she never wavers in her determination to protect and guide them.
